La Liga leaders Barcelona restored their five-point lead at the top with a 3-1 win over Leganes at the Camp Nou on Sunday. Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring after 32 minutes. The France international went past Oscar Rodriguez, exchanged passes with Jordi Alba and then slotted home a low shot in off the post. The hosts dominated the game but were shocked after the break when Leganes levelled. Youssef En-Nesyri played in a low cross for Martin Braithwaite to tap home. Lionel Messi quickly provided the spark Barca needed by firing a venomous shot from the outside the area which was too powerful for goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar to hold, and Luis Suarez pounced to stab home on the rebound in the 71st minute after a lengthy video assistant referee (VAR) review. The Argentine later scored his 18th goal of the season in Spain’s top flight, taking leaders Barca on to 46 points, five clear of nearest challengers Atletico Madrid, after 20 games.

The French came close to netting for the seventh game in a row when he headed against the crossbar, but his teammate Koke pounced on the rebound to make the scoreline 3-0.
