AC Milan gain three points after their impressive 4-1 victory against Sassulo in the Serie A on Monday.

AC Milan emerged victorious against Sassulo, a team who were playing surprisingly well this season, blocking their chance of being second in the league below Juventus. Milan won 4-1 away to end a run of three successive draws.

Suso blasted an early strike against the crossbar from a complicated angle but Franck Kessie could have given Milan the lead in the 26th minute. His shot beat Andrea Consigli but lacked sufficient power to cross the line, allowing Pol Lirola to clear off the line. Federico Di Francesco missed an equally golden chance when he drilled at the legs of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Franck Kessie made up for his previous mistake when controlled the ball in his own half, sprinted forward before half-time and scored from the edge of the area to give Milan the lead at the 39th minute.

Suso and Samu Castillejo also scored for the visitors with long-range left-foot shots after the break. Suso doubled the score sheet at the 50th-minute as he made his 100th Serie A appearance. Castillejo scored a similar goal at the hour mark for Milan which marked first Rossoneri goal.

Filip Djuricic secured one goal back for Sassuolo but the team couldn’t win the match that could have led them to the 2nd spot at the Seria A table. Instead, they stand at the 5th now.

Suso managed to fire the fourth for the season and second of the night in stoppage-time. He has been directly involved in the most number of goals (5) for Milan in Serie A this season.

Reports in Italy have suggested Milan’s poor start to the Serie A season meant the club was considering replacing coach Gattuso with former Chelsea and Juventus coach Antonio Conte but this win might be a factor for his extended his stay.

AC Milan host Olympiacos in the Europa League on 4th October, Thursday before welcoming Chievo in Serie A three days later. While Sassuolo have another tough game next Sunday, 7th October against Napoli.
