Fulham have completed the signing of German international Schurrle from Borussia Dortmund on a two-year-long loan deal. The 27-year-old will wear the number 14 shirt at Craven Cottage. Schurrle will join the list of numerous marquee signings of the Premier League this transfer window and will look to rejuvenate his career with Fulham. Schurrle hardly got any game time at Dortmund and he made a good choice moving away from the club to find his feet as he nears his prime.

“Fulham were the first club that showed interest in me – that was something that I appreciated a lot, and one of the reasons I wanted to come here. “I love ball possession, I love attacking, and I love making runs, so I think it could be perfect. I have to fight for my place and I have to show my quality so that I can be a member who really helps the team,” said Schurrle. Schurrle played for Chelsea from 2013-15 and won a Premier League winners medal in 2015 despite leaving the club for Wolfsburg part-way through the season. He has been at Dortmund since July 2016 and has 57 caps for Germany. He will be eager to get back to the Premier League and show what he has got in his armoury.

Fulham have made quite a few good signings this transfer market and surely look like a force to reckon with. They are surely contenders to avoid relegation by some distance. The league as unpredictable as it is, can never be taken for granted and every team starts from scratch. Fulham will be tipped as one of the favourites to avoid relegation after they have managed to add to the team that made waves in the championship last season. Schurrle will not only add attacking flair but will also bring in a lot of experience that the young men from Fulham will learn a lot from.
