On Mar 7, 2019, the BCCI’s Committee Of Administrators (CoA) announced the Annual Player Contracts for the Indian cricketers for the period from October 2018 to September 2019. Jasprit Bumrah now shares the same category with the skipper Virat Kohli and deputy Rohit Sharma.


New Contract For Indian Cricketers

Jasprit Bumrah has bagged a lucrative Rs 7 crore contract and now is sharing the A+ category with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He is only the third cricketer in the list. The pace bowler has established himself as one of the strongest weapons of Indian cricket team across all the formats and rightfully has been rewarded. Rishab Pant also gained from the new contract. The wicketkeeper batter has bagged a Rs. 5-crore annual contract is a part of the A category now.

Former captain MS Dhoni now will enjoy Rs 5 crore A category along with 10 other players. Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Kuldeep Yadav are other players in the A category.

Grade B category has the young Indian cricketers like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, and the young spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. These four will get Rs 3 cr for this period. Furthermore, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, Hanuma Vihari, Khaleel Ahmed and Wriddhiman Saha have been added to the Rs 1 crore contract of C category.

News For Women Cricketers 
Meanwhile, CoA also announced contracts for the women cricketers of India. Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhan and Poonam Yadav have bagged the Rs 50 lakh A category contracts.

Ekta Bisht, Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey, Deepti Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues have been included in the Rs 30 lakh B category list.

Likewise, Rs 10 lakh C grade contract list has names of Radha Yadav, D Hemalatha, Anuja Patil, Veda Krishnamurthy, Mansi Joshi, Punam Raut, Mona Meshram, Arundhati Reddy, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Taniya Bhatia and Pooja Vastrakar.
