Antonio Conte is reportedly being lined up by AC Milian to replace Gennaro Gattuso as Manager. According to British newspaper Metro, Conte has been offered a contract worth £5.5million-a-year to return to the Serie A. Gennaro Gattuso was appointed as Milan coach mid-Season in November last year after they sacked Vincenzo Montella. AC Milan were acquired by the Eliott Management Corporation in July last year. The Rossoneri spent 160 Million pounds on Transfers which included Leonardo Bonucci who was bought for €42 million. AC Milan spent all that money, changed two managers in one Season only to Finish at sixth place in a largely underwhelming campaign.

Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on taking up the Job at the San Siro but has asked the AC Milan Board for some time. Conte is in the middle of a Legal Battle with former Club Chelsea over his Payout Clause. Antonio Conte had twelve months on his Chelsea contract. The West London Club’s policy states that after being paid a severance package, the sacked manager will still be paid weekly till he is employed elsewhere. He evidently wants the whole salary to be paid up front as Chelsea ‘jeopardised’ the Italian’s career by sacking him three months late.
Conte is stalling his potential employers AC Milan to settle a lawsuit. A lawsuit that was filed against Chelsea as Conte’s late sacking will deprive him of a job. Is anyone seeing the Irony here? I have the utmost respect for Antonio Conte, the Man succeeded at Chelsea against all odds and won the Premier League in his first Season at the Club. Despite a turbulent second Season marred with controversy and a lack of Transfers, The Italian still finished the Season with an FA Cup and a fifth-place finish.
Yes, what happened to him at Chelsea was unfair and no Manager deserves that. But in my opinion, he should just take the Milan Job and move on.
