Arsenal and Manchester City face each other in the opening fixture of their Premier League campaigns on Sunday, 12th August, 08:30 PM (IST).

The opening weekend of the Premier League has launched up a very appealing match as Arsenal take on Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday. City open their title defence against Unai Emery‘s Gunners – who are headed towards the latest season by a new manager for the first time in 22 years.

Here, we pick the Combined XI among the stars of both the teams for their upcoming Premier League tie.

Goalkeeper – Ederson Moares (Manchester City)

Lucas Torreira joins Arsenal after proving himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A last season and even more impressive performance in the World Cup with Uruguay this year. 

Centre Midfield – Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

The Belgian midfielder was one of the most impressive players in the Premier League last season. Kevin De Bruyne is set for yet another amazing campaign for City after returning from a remarkable World Cup campaign this year with Belgium.

Centre Attacking Midfield – Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

Mesut Ozil, who is in the heart of controversy after retiring from the German National team due to racism, looks set to be the key player for the Gunners for another season after encouraging performances in the pre-season friendlies. The playmaker captained the Gunners against PSG and scored the opener.

Right Midfield – Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Arsenal)

Striker – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was phenomenal in the latter part of the previous season for the Gunners. The 29-year-old striker is tipped to be one of the front-runners for the golden boot award this season.
