Leon Bailey to Chelsea? Leverkusen Winger Linked to the Blues

According to German Football outlet, Fussball Transfers, Bayer Leverkusen Winger Leon Bailey is Linked with a move to Chelsea in the Winter Transfer Window. Bailey is one of the most sought-after Young Football talents in the World, and the 21-Year-old is reportedly keen to work under Maurizio Sarri. The Jamaican Born forward was also a target for Premier League Clubs Arsenal and Liverpool in the Summer Window.

Aside from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool, French Giants Paris St. Germain and Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich are also in the race for the Leverkusen Star.  Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are immovable at PSG with Draxler and Di Maria warming the Bench while at Bayern Ribery, Robben, Koman, and Gnabry will make it extremely difficult to break into the side. Chelsea seems to be his best option as the Blues have only three recognized wingers, with Pedro and Willian both in their 30s, making it a realistic possibility to see the youngster combine with Eden Hazard in the future.

Bailey scored 12 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions for Leverkusen in the 2017/18 Campaign, including a memorable backheel Goal against Hoffenheim. His performances in the last Season alerted a number of Europe’s top Clubs, and Bailey is now one of the hottest properties in World Football.

What makes the 21-year-old’s career even more interesting is the fact that despite representing Jamaica at the Under-23 level, Bailey is eligible to play for Belgium, Malta, England, and Germany. Bailey did Sign an extension that would keep him at Leverkusen till 2023, but since when have new contracts stopped payers from departing a few months later?

It is still yet to be seen whether these reports have any substance but the prospect of seeing a youngster hit 21 Miles per hour running down the wing in the Premier League is undoubtedly an exciting one!
