Transfer News: Chelsea may make one more signing says Sarri

Maurizio Sarri has his task cut out. Chelsea looked immensely underwhelming against Manchester City in their 2-0 Community Shield loss. Sarri stated in a press conference before the game that Chelsea may make one more signing. But by the looks of it, the Blues may need more than one signing to have a decent chance at the Premier League Title.

Sarri and the Board were contemplating the Signing of a Midfielder but with reports about Thibaut Courtois forcing his way out the club emerging Chelsea may have to rethink their strategy. Courtois’ Children and former Girlfriend are based out of Madrid, and that is said to be the Primary reason behind the Belgian’s demand for a Transfer. With a reported, 35 Million Pound deal finalized weeks ago (According to RMC) Chelsea will only let the Belgian leave after securing a replacement. Multiple names have come up in the media to replace Courtois, the likes of Gianluigi Donnaruma, Kasper Schmeichel and most recently Jack Butland. Recently ESPN FC’s Shaka Hislop suggested that with less than three days to go before the English Transfer window shuts, Chelsea’s Best option is to go with a player swap with Real Madrid for Keylor Navas. Navas is a World Class Keeper and is probably Chelsea’s best option.

Assuming Chelsea let Thibaut Courtois go and somehow manage to secure a replacement in time they would still have to sign a Winger or a Midfielder in my opinion. The Blues lack backup options on the Wing with Pedro and Willian now in their 30’s and Eden Hazard looking like the only viable option they can count on provided he doesn’t move to Real Madrid for a World Record fee. Christian Pulisic and Wilfried Zaha are names that have popped up in recent times and both players would be excellent acquisitions for Maurizio Sarri but looking at the time crunch Chelsea are under, both deals look unlikely.
