Borussia Dortmund Raphael Guerrero scored a brace while Axel Witsel and Jadon Sancho scored a Goal each to sink Atletico Madrid with a 4-0 Result in the Champions League Group A fixtures.
Borussia Dortmund were really impressive in a win against Atletico Madrid at the Signal Iduna Park that beyond any doubt, puts them on top of Group A. Dortmund Captain Marco Reus praised his team’s performance and said what they had achieved was nothing short of “sensational”. On the other hand, Diego Simeone must be disappointed by the performance of his players, especially after finally gaining some kind of momentum and the new Transfers looking a lot more settled. By virtue of this win, Borussia Dortmund go 3 points clear on top of Group A while also sitting comfortably on top of the Bundesliga Table.

Dortmund Manager Lucien Favre must be might pleased considering this win protects his team’s unbeaten record across all competitions and really puts them in a comfortable position to not only qualify to the knockouts but also emerge as winners in Group A.
Belgian Central Midfielder, Axel Witsel fired the home side in front in the 38th minute with a shot from outside the box that deflected off Saul Niguez to go find the back of the net. Just four minutes later Dortmund could have been two goals up but defender Zagadou headed wide from the corner. Dortmund went into the break with a 1-0 advantage over Atleti.
Atletico Madrid came out in the Second-half with a lot more intent, desire, and possession. Midfielder Saul Niguez was determined to pull level and came excruciatingly close with a sublime curling effort that hit the post. But it was the hosts who doubled their lead, through Raphael Guerreiro who was set up by Real Madrid Loanee, Achraf Hakimi in the 73rd Minute. Hakimi then set up Substitute Jadon Sancho with an easy tap-in, Sancho scored his first Champions League goal and the English Youngster continues to perform at Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund wrapped the scoring up in the 89th Minute when Left-Back Felipe Luis’s pass gifted Guerreiro an easy one-on-one which the Portuguese Buried in the back of the net.
Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus praised his Teammates and their performance “You couldn’t have imagined that. You have to say, a great compliment to the group because it is not commonplace that you score four goals against Atletico. It’s not only the result but how we played was very convincing. When we had the ball, Atletico defended very deep, especially before the break.”
