UEFA Champions League: It’s Crunch time in the Champions League as Group A joint leaders Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid go head to head to potentially decide who would win the Group.

Borussia Dortmund host La Liga giants Atletico Madrid at the Signal Iduna Park in what is clearly the standout fixture in Group A of the UEFA Champions League. Hosts Borussia Dortmund have been in excellent form and are three points clear on top of the Bundesliga Table and the likes of Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho and Paco Alcacer all hitting top form. Atletico Madrid have also had a decent run and though they lie at 5th place on the points table they are level on points with Dortmund in Group A. Atleti have been pretty impressive in recent times and considering the two teams are level on points this game could virtually decide the winner of the Group.

Dortmund will be hoping that the hostile environment at the Signal Iduna Park will intimidate Atletico and playing at home in such a rich vein of form, the hosts are definite favourites to win.

Team News: Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund are in amazing form and will be hoping Paco Alcacer continues banging those Goals in while Jadon Sancho continues to assist Goals at the same rate ( 6 assists most by any player in Europe’s top-flight) and Marco Reus does a little bit of both. Swiss Centre-Back Manuel Akanji is still out with a Groin Injury and Japanese Central Midfielder Shinji Kagawa is also sidelined for the Atletico game.

Predicted XI: Burki, Hakimi, Zagadou, Diallo, Piszcek, Witsel, Weigl, Pulisic, Sancho, Reus, Alcacer

Team News: Atletico Madrid

Diego Costa looks all set to return to Atletico’s lineup and though the Spaniard has had a rough patch in recent weeks, Simeone and Atletico will be hoping that Costa comes good and will desperately hoping his ferociousness comes to the fore. Thomas Lemar is also expected to return for the Los Rojiblancos.

Predicted XI: Oblak, Luis, Giminez, Godin, Juanfran, Koke, Saul, Rodri, Lemar, Griezmann, Costa

Key Player for Borussia Dortmund: Paco Alcacer

The Barcelona Loanee was deemed as a “Flop” by the fans of the Catalan Club. But Alcacer seems to be a completely different player at Dortmund. The Spaniard has scored 7 Goals in 4 Matches, scoring at the rate of 18 Minutes per goal. To add to that Alcacer has scored with every shot he’s got on target.

Key Players for Atletico Madrid: Antoine Griezmann

Griezmann is Atleti’s talisman and will undoubtedly be the most talented player on that pitch. If Dortmund can stop Griezmann, they stop Atleti. It’s Simple.
