The Bundesliga wrapped up its second Gameweek, and we saw some awe-inspiring Performances. Here’s our Bundesliga Team of the week.
GK: Yann Sommer (Borussia Moenchengladbach)
Augsburg created a lot of chances against Borussia Moenchengladbach, but couldn’t score more than one goal thanks to a great performance by Yann Sommer who made six saves to earn a 1-1 draw.
Right-back: Nordi Mukiele, RB Leipzig
Leipzig’s new signing did everything right in the 1-1 draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf. The Frenchman never stopped running and played in some excellent crosses from the right side.
Centre-back: Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, FC Augsburg
A reliable presence for Augsburg. Gouweleeuw was excellent against Gladbach and made a very good save on the Goalline.
Centre-back: Kaan Ayhan, Fortuna Düsseldorf
The former Schalke player had a good game against Leipzig. Ayhan Won 72% of his duels and only committed one foul.
Left-back: Jerome Roussillon, Wolfsburg
Roussillon has proved to be a solid signing for Wolfsburg so far. The Frenchman is calm on the ball and put in an excellent shift in the 3-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen.
Central midfielder: Ondrej Duda, Hertha BSC
The Slovak had an outstanding game against Schalke 04 in which he scored a brace for Hertha Berlin. He scored in Injury time from a brilliant Set-piece.
Central midfielder: Leon Goretzka, Bayern München
The German has ensured that Bayern has made yet another brilliant start to their Bundesliga Title defense. Goretzka put in a strong performance with a goal and an assist.
Offensive midfielder: Thomas Müller, Bayern München
Müller has started the Bundesliga 2018/19 season very well under new Manager Niko Kovac. The German finished the game with a goal and an assist.
Offensive midfielder: Yuya Kubo, FC Nürnberg
The 24-year-old Japanese International who is on Loan from Gent has been impressive for Nürnberg. With great speed and agility, Kubo was a constant threat in the 1-1 draw against Mainz.
Striker: Robert Lewandowski, Bayern München
Lewandowski his second goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Stuttgart. The Polish International even set up Thomas Müller’s Goal. The transfer request seems forgotten now.
Striker: Adam Szalai, Hoffenheim
The Hungarian striker once again showed how dangerous he is inside the box as he scored twice in the 3-1 win over Freiburg. The 30-year-old is now the Bundesliga top scorer with three goals in two games.
