The Brazilians will be looking to redeem themselves after an embarrassing 7-1 loss in the Semi-finals that saw them crash out of the World Cup. Coach Tite would be hoping for the likes of Neymar, Coutinho, and Marcelo to step up and deliver.

Full Squad

Goalkeepers: Allison Becker (AS Roma), Ederson Moraes (Manchester City), Cassio (Corinthians)

Defenders: Danilo (Manchester City), Fagner (Corinthians), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Thiago Silva, Marquinhos (both PSG), Miranda (Inter Milan), Pedro Geromel (Gremio).

Forwards: Neymar (PSG), Taison (Shakhtar Donetsk), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool).

Surprises: Gremios’ Pedro Geromel and Corinthians custodian Cassio along with Full-Back Fagner were surprise inclusions. Juventus wide back Alex Sandro, the experienced Dani Alves, and David Luiz missed out as well.

Players to watch out for:  Neymar, Jesus, and Coutinho would be key in attack and Marcelo along with Thiago Silva will have to bring all their experience to the table.

Strengths: Brazil’s Forwards are without a doubt the team’s biggest strength. Neymar, Jesus, Coutinho along with the likes of Willian and Douglas Costa makes for a scintillating attack.

Weakness: Brazil has an excellent first XI and weaknesses are hard to spot, they do though, lack depth in defence especially at Right-back with Danilo and Fagner.

Les Blues will be desperate to lift the World Cup this time, even more so due to their narrow defeat against Portugal in the 2016 Euro Cup. Didier Deschamps has made quite a few changes since their last major tournament including a vast majority of young in-form players.

FULL SQUAD

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur), Steve Mandanda (Marseille), Alphonse Areola (Paris Saint-Germain)

Defenders: Lucas Hernandez (Atletico Madrid), Presnel Kimpembe (Paris Saint-Germain), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City), Benjamin Pavard (Stuttgart), Adil Rami (Marseille), Djibril Sidibe (Monaco), Samuel Umtiti (Barcelona), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

Midfielders: N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Blaise Matuidi (Juventus), Steven N’Zonzi (Sevilla), Paul Pogba(Manchester United), Corentin Tolisso (Bayern Munich)

Forwards: Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Nabil Fekir (Lyon), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Thomas Lemar (Monaco), Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain), Florian Thauvin (Marseille)

SURPRISES

Man City’s Aymeric Laporte, United forward Anthony Martial, and Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette missed out while in-form attacker Nabil Fekir, Marseille duo Adil Rami and Florian Thauvin make the squad.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Midfielders like Kante & Pogba will dictate the game in midfield supporting one of the best attacks in the world with world-class forwards like Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, and Thomas Lemar whilst having alternative options like Olivier Giroud, Ousmane Dembele, and Nabil Fekir.

STRENGTHS

The French squad has a depth in the squad which is paralleled by only a couple of teams. The attack is the team’s biggest strength; the world-class quality of their front line will be a headache for all the teams who face Les Blues.

WEAKNESSES

While France does have an ultra-talented squad, most of the stars are very young and hence inexperienced and experience has always been a major factor in the competition.

The Portuguese National Team will look on to replicating their Euro Cup 2016 victory. Fernando Santos has made some big changes in his World Cup squad snubbing some experienced players and some players who play in top-class teams.

FULL SQUAD

Goalkeepers: Anthony Lopes (Lyon), Beto (Goztepe), Rui Patricio (Sporting)

Defenders: Bruno Alves (Rangers), Cedric Soares (Southampton), Jose Fonte (Dalian Yifang), Mario Rui (Napoli), Pepe (Besiktas), Raphael Guerreiro (Dortmund), Ricardo Pereira (Leicester City), Ruben Dias (Benfica)

Forwards: Andre Silva (Milan), Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Gelson Martins (Sporting), Ricardo Quaresma (Besiktas), Goncalo Guedes (PSG)

SURPRISES

Young player of the tournament (Euro 2016) Renato Sanches, strong fan favorite Ruben Neves and Barcelona duo Andre Gomes and Nelson Semedo have been snubbed while Leicester’s new right-back Ricardo Pereira, Joao Mario, Paris Saint-Germain youngster Goncalo Guedes and Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes have all secured a spot.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Experienced mid-field duo Joao Moutinho and Adrien Silva along with William Carvalho will make sure to dictate any game. Cristiano Ronaldo is a game changer for any team in the World and Portugal are no different.

STRENGTHS

Pace, pace & more pace; this year’s Portuguese side has pacy players in almost every position and will look to outrun their opponents in any match.

WEAKNESSES

Relying too much on one player, Cristiano Ronaldo. Not pointing a finger at Portugal as wherever the superstar is, the team is bound to be built around him, now it is true that it’s not necessarily a bad thing but if he is not playing in the starting eleven, it is hard to see Portugal giving any top-class team a difficult time.

The Spanish National team has the strength to rival any other team in the World Cup and will aim to lift the cup and erase their previous World Cup embarrassment. Julen Lopetegui’s side has been on fire in the qualification stages, the squad that will go to the World Cup features pretty big names but some of the players who didn’t make the squad might have made it in any other team.

FULL SQUAD

Goalkeepers: David De Gea (Manchester United), Pepe Reina (Napoli), Kepa Arrizabalaga (Athletic Bilbao)

Defenders: Jordi Alba (Barcelona), César Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Nacho Monreal (Arsenal), Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), Nacho Fernández (Real Madrid), Gerard Piqué (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Álvaro Odriozola (Real Sociedad)

Midfielders: Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona), Jorge “Koke” Resurreccion (Atletico Madrid), Saul Ňiguez (Atletico Madrid), Marco Asensio (Real Madrid), David Silva (Manchester City), Lucas Vázquez (Real Madrid), Francisco “Isco” Alarcón (Real Madrid)

Forwards: Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo), Rodrigo (Valencia), Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

SURPRISES

Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, Chelsea players Alvaro Morata, Cesc Fabregas and Marcos Alonso have all been left out of Spain’s World Cup squad while Sociedad’s Álvaro Odriozola, Valencia’s Rodrigo, Atletico’s Saul Ňiguez and Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal made the cut.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

The Spanish National Team have always had a treasury of talents available to them. Looking at the squad, Premier League Golden Glove recipient David De Gea, a partnership between Sergio Ramos and Gerard Piqué will be crucial and Spain’s everlasting midfield maestro Andrés Iniesta will hold the key as well.

STRENGTHS

The sheer quality of the midfield in the Spanish National Team has always been hailed, this year won’t be any different. The depth of the squad is commendable as well.

WEAKNESSES

The lack of a world-class striker will haunt Spain and even the backup strikers have a rather low profile.

Die Mannschaft will be looking to defend their title as the World Cup champions of 2014. Joachim Löw has made plenty of changes, some expected, some unexpected and some downright shocking. Here’s the full squad along with a few key notes.

FULL SQUAD

Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer (Bayern), Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Barcelona), Kevin Trapp (PSG)

Defenders: Jerome Boateng (Bayern), Matthias Ginter (Gladbach), Jonas Hector (Cologne), Mats Hummels (Bayern), Joshua Kimmich (Bayern), Marvin Plattenhardt (Hertha), Antonio Rüdiger (Chelsea), Niklas Süle (Bayern)

Midfielders: Julian Brandt (Leverkusen), Julian Draxler (PSG), Leon Goretzka (Schalke), Ilkay Gündogan (Man City), Sami Khedira (Juventus), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Mesut Özil (Arsenal), Sebastian Rudy (Bayern)

Forwards: Mario Gomez (Stuttgart), Thomas Müller (Bayern), Marco Reus (Dortmund), Timo Werner (Leipzig)

SURPRISES

Bayern Munich’s Sandro Wagner (who also announced his retirement from international football), Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, Dortmund’s Mario Götze fail to make the cut while Mario Gomez, Matthias Ginter, and Bayern’s Sebastian Rudy barely made the cut.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Mesut Özil has been a key figure in midfield since 2010 along with veterans Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira. Germany will also depend on Thomas Müller‘s impeccable form in the World Cup.

STRENGTHS

The discipline of the players and the chemistry among them has always stood out. The overall quality of the squad and its depth are one of the strongest features of the German National Team.

WEAKNESSES

The squad lacks pace with only having few runners such as Leroy Sane and Timo Werner. Manuel Neuer, arguably the best goalkeeper of this generation has still not made a full recovery and it will be a huge blow for the team if he doesn’t make the Starting 11.

Argentina’s coach Jorge Sampaoli took over the team with just 4 World Cup Qualification games left and sealed World Cup qualification in the last game. Argentina isn’t a reflection of their performances in World Cup Qualification, the 2014 FIFA World Cup runners-up have a very scintillating attack and if they can find some sort of defensive shape, they would be a force to be reckoned with.

Full Squad

Goalkeepers: Willy Caballero (Chelsea), Franco Armani (River Plate), Nahuel Guzman (Tigres).

Defenders: Gabriel Mercado (Sevilla), Federico Fazio (Roma), Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City), Marcos Rojo (Manchester United), Nicolas Taglafico (Ajax), Javier Mascherano (Hebei Fortune), Marcos Acuna (Sporting Lisbon), Cristian Ansaldi (Torino).

Midfielders: Ever Banega (Sevilla), Lucas Biglia (AC Milan), Angel Di María (PSG), Giovani Lo Celso (PSG), Manuel Lanzini (West Ham), Cristian Pavon (Boca Juniors), Maximiliano Meza (Independiente), Eduardo Salvio (Benfica).

Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gonzalo Higuain(Juventus), Paulo Dybala (Juventus), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City).

Surprises: Mauro Icardi has been left out of the Argentina Squad despite having a 29 goal Season in Serie A outscoring Compatriots Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala. Fans who have been following the Argentine National side may not be very surprised with his snubbing, Icardi has made only 4 appearances for the Argentina National side. His controversial affair and subsequent marriage with Argentine model and Maxi Lopez’s ex-wife Wanda Nara and Twitter wars with Argentina great, Diego Maradona are just some of the ‘alleged’ reasons for his consistent snubbing from the national side.

Players to watch out for: Argentina possess some really strong forwards, captain Lionel Messi is a no-brainer, Juventus strikers Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain have also been in fine form, Manchester City Record top scorer Sergio Aguero is also in the mix which makes for a dangerous Attack.

Strengths: Argentina would be highly dependent on their forward line lead by Leo Messi if they’re to have any sort of chance in Russia. in Midfield they have Angel Di Maria who could really be threatening when he gets going, Ever Banega’s experience can also come in handy.

Weaknesses: Argentina certainly lacks firepower in defence and though they have the experienced Willy Caballero they lack a World class Goalkeeper.

Every country has a once in a generation player, someone who breaks onto the scene and gets everyone’s attention. Well, Belgium has a whole team of ‘once in a generation’ players, so much so that this golden generation of footballers are one of the favorites to lift the World Cup in Russia.

Full Squad

Goalkeepers: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea), Simon Mignolet (Liverpool), Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg)

Defenders: Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur), Dedryck Boyata (Celtic), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Thomas Meunier (Paris St-Germain), Thomas Vermaelen (Barcelona), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Yannick Carrasco (Dalian Yifang), Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Mousa Dembele (Tottenham Hotspur), Leander Dendoncker (Anderlecht), Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Monchengladbach), Adnan Januzaj (Real Sociedad), Dries Mertens (Napoli), Youri Tielemans (Monaco), Axel Witsel (Tianjin Quanjian)

Forwards: Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea), Nacer Chadli (West Brom), Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United

Surprises: Let’s get this out of the way first, Radja Nainggolan was left out of the squad, not only the final 23-man squad but also the 29-man Provisional squad, while inferior Midfielders like Fellaini and Januzaj made the cut. Furthermore, Manager Roberto Martinez has included only 6 Defenders in his final squad, which could mean versatile midfielder Leander Dendoncker could spend some time in defence.

Players to watch out for: Belgium has a lot of stars Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Toby Alderweirald will be key men for Belgium.

Strengths: Belgium has excellent Midfielders, players who can create goals and players who are very good at stopping goals as well. Eden Hazard will have to be at his absolute best along with Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku to have a genuine shot at this World Cup.

Weaknesses: Belgium has some versatile defenders but lack some depth outside their first XI and do not have a top left-back. Their biggest weakness though is their inexperience in World Cups, could this young team go out there and perform? We’ll have to wait and find out.

England has some decent players but has always lacked unity. Gareth Southgate’s Men will be looking to turn things around in Russia this time. All eyes will be on Newly appointed captain and target man Harry Kane, can he take the Three Lions all the way?

Full Squad

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Jack Butland (Stoke City), Nick Pope (Burnley)

Defenders: Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Danny Rose (Tottenham), John Stones (Manchester City), Harry Maguire (Leicester City), Phil Jones (Manchester United),  Ashley Young (Manchester United)

Midfielders: Eric Dier (Tottenham), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Dele Alli (Tottenham), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea, On loan at Crystal Palace), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United)

Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal)

Surprises: Burnley’s Nick Pope, Danny Welbeck has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal a World Cup call-up wasn’t exactly what everyone was expecting. Joe Hart being left out along with Jack Wilshere has sent Social Media into a frenzy.

Players to watch out for England is blessed with some good attacking options with most of them in top form, Harry Kane ( 41 goals ), Raheem Sterling ( 23 goals ), Marcus Rashford ( 13 goals ) and Jamie Vardy ( 23 goals ).

Strengths: England’s Strikers are their strength, Southgate will be banking on Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane to hit the ground running. The Three Lions also has some quality wide-backs with Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, and Keiran Trippier all in fine touch.

Weaknesses: The England center-backs are relatively young, barring Phil Jones and Gary Cahill who haven’t really been in the best form. To add to their defensive woes all three Goalkeepers are very young and have never played a minute of Champions League Football.
