Chelsea and Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi has found himself in Spain after Chelsea and Valencia agreed on a loan deal for the striker. The 24-year-old striker spent most of his last season at the German club Borussia Dortmund.

In the 14 appearances that the Belgian made for the German club, he scored nine times. However, this season the Belgian came back to his parent club and now is on his way to the Spanish giants. After joining Chelsea in 2016 for a fee of 33 million pounds, the striker has scored 19 times in 53 games for the Blues.

His departure from the club would shallow down the striker spot for the trio of Alvaro Morata, Olivier Giroud, and Tammy Abraham. It has been said that the Belgian has been in a better form than the trio of Chelsea strikers. Oliver Giroud was part of the French squad that won the World Cup a few months ago.

Giroud’s poor phase during the World Cup:

However, his part in the team’s victory was negligible. The former Arsenal striker scored no goals in the entire campaign, despite playing all of it. Batshuayi made three appearances for Belgium at the World Cup in Russia this summer and had scored a goal in one of his appearances.

The Spanish club announced the deal on Twitter, with a bat emoji for which the striker himself had replied. Earlier in the season, Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri admitted his squad was too large and he was willing to allow some of his fringe players to leave before the end of the month.

Los Che announced in a statement on their official website: β€œValencia CF have reached an agreement with Chelsea FC for the transfer of Michy Batshuayi until the end of this season.”

Sevilla too were in the mix for the striker from Chelsea. However, Champions League football meant that Valencia had the upper hand over the club from Seville. However, the Sevillian club is now behind AC Milan’s striker Andre Silva for strengthening their attack.
