According to sources at ESPN, Chelsea attempted to sign the 20-Year-old and wanted him to be a part of Maurizio Sarri’s original framework in the Summer. But due to discrepancies with the Transfer fee, Dortmund’s unwillingness to let their starlet go and time-crunch, the deal had to be shelved. Chelsea continued negotiations, and the £58 Million fee was agreed in Autumn, but Dortmund insisted on keeping the deal under the wraps till the Winter Window opened. Signing Pulisic is an instrumental move in Chelsea investing in their future with Current forwards Willian and Pedro well into their 30s while Eden Hazard’s future at the Club is still unclear. Pulisic gives Chelsea some assurity, considering he is very young and is only 20 years old it gives Chelsea a Forward they can rely on for 7-8 Seasons.
Pulisic arrived at Dortmund at the age of 16 and quickly made strides to the first team Squad within the year of his arrival in 2015. Pulisic went on to make 115 appearances scoring 15 Goals and assisting 24 in all competitions. Not bad considering he is only 20-years old and given his talent, potential and age he is destined to improve. Pulisic released a very emotional final post thanking Borussia Dortmund and the fans on his Social media.

“Looking forward to working with Maurizio Sarri and his technical team. But for the next six months, it’s all BVB! Please do not doubt my passion, determination and my 110% commitment to the team, right until the last ball is kicked this season. We all feel that this is ‘our year’ and we are determined to achieve the best possible results in all competitions.”
Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia expressed her delight and excitement upon signing one of the best Young players in the World.
“We look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer and wish him and Dortmund every success for the remainder of the season.”
World Pulisic is exceptionally versatile and can play on either flank or through the middle as a number 10. It’ll be interesting to track his development at Chelsea and see where does he fit in Maurizio Sarri’s plans.
