IPL MATCH 20: CSK vs SRH – A Battle for the First Spot!

IPL 2018 | Match 20 | SRH vs CSK: After a brilliant win against Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings will be taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad today, 22nd April 2018. Both teams have earned six points each from four matches, only losing one game so far. A win for either team will propel it to the top of the IPL standings.

The good thing for CSK is that most of their batsmen have performed at their best when the situation demanded it. Bravo and Billings’ knocks gave CSK a win against MI and KKR respectively. Dhoni almost pulled a win against the Kings in a high-scoring clash. Opener Ambati Rayudu has also scored 122 runs from four outings averaging 30.50.

In the previous match, Shane Watson’s fantastic knocks of 106 runs pushed CSK to a massive total. Furthermore, Suresh Raina’s comeback after his calf injury also looked good for his 29-ball 46 against RR. In terms of bowling, all-rounder, Watson managed to score six wickets from four games. Also, Shardul Thakur and Imran Tahir have also bagged five and four wickets respectively.

On the other hand, SRH takes the third spot in the IPL standings. On paper, they possess one of the strongest batting lineups with Wriddhiman Saha and in-form Shikhar Dhawan as openers followed by skipper Williamson along with Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, and Shakib Al Hasan. However, in their previous game, their batters seemed to have failed in chasing a high.

Meanwhile, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul and Shakib Al Hasan, their bowling unit looks top-notch. Bhuvneshwar and Kaul have scored five and six wickets respectively and have maintained a satisfying economy rate of 6.75 and 7.25 respectively. Rashid has also bowled the most balls in the league.

The heat has been rising, but the biting conditions of a 4 PM start should not deter from it being a full house at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Overall, it could once again be a nail-biting encounter for fans when the two best side of the league face off on a Sunday evening. Today the question remains, will the Super Kings keep their spot or allow the Sunrisers to snag it from them. What we know for sure is that this will be an interesting match and both teams will not go down without putting up a fight for the top of the list.
