The Spaniard has put pen to paper, signing a deal that will keep him at Old Trafford till 2023, the deal without any question puts an end to the “David de Gea to Real Madrid” rumors. Los Blancos came awfully close to signing David de Gea in 2015 but because of an infamous ‘Fax Machine’ debacle, the deal could not pull through on deadline day.

The Spanish No.1 has been nothing short of exceptional, 18 clean sheets in the Premier League that saw him go on to win the Golden Glove for the first time. The Madrid-born keeper arrived at Manchester United in 2010 for an 18.9 Million Pound transfer fee from Atletico Madrid. De Gea struggled to adjust to the English game and even conceded 6 Goals in an embarrassing 6-1 loss to cross-town rivals Manchester City. Despite a turbulent start David de Gea picked himself up and now is arguably the Best goalkeeper in the World (Provided Neuer doesn’t pick up where he left off before his injury).
Manchester United have been busy this Transfer Window having already signed Fred (52 Million Ponds) and Diego Dalot (19 Million Pounds) but in my opinion, this is the signing they needed the most. Tying De Gea down for 5-years ensures solidarity and clean sheets in goal. It’s a great piece of business. Fax machines in Madrid really need to be serviced.
