Argentina VS Nigeria, Kick off time: 11:30 pm (IST)
Argentina and Messi still have a chance of making it to the next round if they manage to beat the Super Eagles. Their tournament has been shredded in misery after a series of individual and group performances. Nigeria, on the other hand, would make it to the next round if they manage to beat the Argentines. They will prove to be a tough opposition for Argentina to break down and they will need their main man Messi to be in top form to get them out of misery yet again, something that he has failed to do throughout this tournament. But all eyes will yet be on him even though his side are criticized for relying too much on him, he is yet to lift a major international trophy for his country and is yet to open his account in the tournament.
This was September 2015 inside the hotel room of Ahmed Musa. I showed him on YouTube the two goals he scored against Argentina, and he said to me “This is my biggest Super Eagles moment” He went to score two goals against Messi’s Barcelona Can he do it again? #BringRussiaHome pic.twitter.com/4DXjTStSnf

Nigeria captain John Obi Mike; is all set to return for his team in a must-win game after he sustained an arm injury during the second half against Iceland. He will play a key role in a game that Nigeria can’t afford to lose if they are to make it to the next round.

Sampaoli might be tempted to start Aguero again after he was withdrawn in the second half against Croatia last time out. Why he doesn’t play Dybala is really the question in every fan’s mind. Rojo is also available for the game and Di Maria is also expected to play after being left on the bench last time out. It is the big games where you expect your big players to step up and deliver for your team and Argentina will be expecting the same from their players.
Nigeria: D | L | L | L | W
Argentina: W | L | W | D | L
Prediction: Argentina 2 Nigeria 1: I expect Messi to turn up this game simply because a player of his calibre cannot be down for long, Nigeria will, however, surely have a goal in them and Messi led Argentina must live up to their name if they want to have any chance of making it to the next round of the competition.
