With the World Cup just around the corner, the fans are brimming with immense joy and excitement. Some people just need another reason to search something about the World Cup. We tend to connect the things that we love; one way is to look for players who represent our clubs in the World Cup and add another few countries to the list of teams to support in the upcoming World Cup. This article will look at one club Real Madrid CF and the 15 players who are off to Russia.

Here are the players from Real Madrid CF who will be playing in the FIFA World Cup 2018

BRAZIL: Marcelo & Casemiro 

For the first time since 1950, Brazil, Switzerland, and Serbia were all drawn in the same first-round group. Brazil pitches their enterprising, attack-minded brand of football and its complemented by Marcelo who provides width and an incredible attacking threat from left-back. The 30-year old has earned 52 caps for his country.

One of the best defensive midfielders in modern football, Casemiro has made quite a name for himself in the last couple of seasons for Los Blancos; the anchorman of Madrid’s immaculately balanced midfield trio. He has earned 23 caps for Brazil.

COSTA RICA: Keylor Navas 

Keylor Navas was in the Champions League’s winning side helping Real Madrid to their third Champions League trophy in a row. He will be one of the most important players for Costa Rica, who are in the group E along with Brazil, Switzerland, and Serbia. The Real Madrid stopper has earned 76 caps for his country.

CROATIA: Luka Modric & Mateo Kovacic 

The midfield maestro in Real Madrid’s world-class midfield and the hope of Croatia in the upcoming World Cup. The complete midfield player, with the technical and athletic ability to play in any midfield role, Modric holds 105 caps for his country. 

Kovacic is one of the most wanted players in this transfer window. The 24-year old has earned 40 caps for Croatia. He and Modric will give their best for Croatia as they will play against Argentina, Nigeria & Iceland in Group D.

FRANCE: Raphael Varane 

Varane has proven himself as one of the best defenders in the world today. The 25-year old is Ramos’ central defensive partner in Real Madrid and is outstanding in his own right. He has earned 41 caps for his nation and is expected to start every game in the World Cup.

GERMANY: Toni Kroos 

Die Mannschaft will be looking to defend their title as the World Cup champions of 2014.  Joachim Low’s reigning champions will face Mexico, South Korea, and Sweden in Group F. The four-time world champions and current FIFA Confederations Cup holders, Germany is widely expected to top this group. Composure on the ball and metronomic passing can be used best to describe Toni Kroos. He remains a key player for the Germans with a total tally of 82 caps.

MOROCCO: Achraf Hakimi 

Morocco is the dark horses in their group which has Iran, Portugal, and Spain. Hakimi was named in the final 23 man squad for Morocco’s World Cup campaign. The 19-year old plays as a right-back for both his club and country and has already earned 9 caps.

PORTUGAL: Cristiano Ronaldo 

As UEFA EURO 2016 winners, Portugal secured their berth to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, where Fernando Santos’s side defeated Mexico in the play-off for the third place hence Russia presents familiar territory for PortugalEven with the EURO 2016 trophy in their hands, the Portugal team is suffering from a severe lack of quality, compared to other European heavyweights. Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers in the history. Being named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for the last two years running, he is the all-time leading scorer for both Portugal and Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo holds 149 caps and 81 goals for Portugal.

SPAIN: Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Nacho,  Marco Asensio, Isco & Lucas Vasquez 

The Spanish National team has the strength to rival any other team in the World Cup and will aim to lift the cup and erase their previous World Cup embarrassment. Julen Lopetegui’s side has been on fire in the qualification stages. The captain of La Roja, Ramos was a key player in the teams that won two European Championships and one World Cup. This Real Madrid player is all set to show his skill sets that made him win 4 UEFA Champions League title. Even though he is criticized for a rather rough style of play, the 32-year old defender is undoubtedly an impact player. Nearing Iker Casillas’ all-time record of 167 capsRamos is Spain’s second-most capped player.

Dani Carvajal is one of the best right-backs in the world today. The 26-year old has earned 15 caps and is recovering from an injury he faced in the Champions League final. Carvajal will be a guaranteed starter for the Spanish Team.

The omnipresent figure in the Madrid defence, he could play any position in the Real Madrid backline, Nacho is one of the most underrated defenders in the world. He will be looking to increase his tally of 16 caps for his country in the upcoming World Cup.

Marco Asensio has earned 11 caps for the national side and will be aiming to get his first goal for Spain. The bombastic attacking midfielder will be playing in his first World Cup.

The Spanish team is filled with midfielders of the highest quality, one of them is the Real Madrid man Isco. After gradually earning his spot in the elite batch of midfielders, the 26-year old attacking midfielder has been in red-hot form for La Roja in their qualifiers. His stunning ability to dribble, create space and make through balls is a rare combination to have on a player and undoubtedly a welcome one. This World Cup will be the first one for Isco and it might as be his best. He has earned 26 caps for Spain.

Lucas Vasquez is the final man who joins his teammates in the Spanish National Team. The 26-year had a very prolific season with Madrid, hence he was called up to Spain’s uber-talented squad. He has earned just 6 caps for his country but will be looking to add to his tally in the upcoming World Cup.
