The Transfer saga involving Gonzalo Higuain finally comes to an end, Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri have got their man.

Chelsea have finally completed their pursuit of signing Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus on a short-term loan. The Argentine striker has been linked with a move to West London the moment Maurizio Sarri joined the Club as Manager and the Italian would be mighty pleased to have acquired the services of undoubtedly the best Striker he has coached in his Managerial career.

The transfer was an extremely complicated one because Higuain was at AC Milan on a Season long loan and a deal had to be struck between Chelsea, Juventus, and Milan to make this Transfer possible. Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia spoke about Higuain Joining the Club and the complexity of the Transfer.

“Gonzalo was our number one target in this transfer window and arrives with a proven record at the highest level. He has previously worked with Maurizio to great effect and is familiar with how the coach likes to play. This was not an easy deal for us to do because of the numerous parties involved, but we are delighted we were able to make it happen and we look forward to seeing the impact Gonzalo will make for us in the second half of the season.”

Gonzalo Higuain has arrived at Chelsea with a huge reputation as a Goalscorer. The player has been successful at almost every Club he’s played at scoring 267 Goals in 537 appearances at the Club level which is a Goal almost every second game. Chelsea are struggling this Season on the Goalscoring front and need a lift after their shambolic performance against Arsenal.

Though Higuain is 31 years old, the deal on paper makes sense. Chelsea have Signed him on a loan deal till the end of the Season and if the player sets in well at the Club they have an option to extend the deal by another year. Furthermore, Higuain has already been immensely successful under Maurizio Sarri and fans will be looking forward to their Manager-player dynamic. While speaking in his first interview with the Club, Higuain spoke about Sarri, Chelsea and what he expects to achieve.

“When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it, It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in. I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.”

Sarri also expressed his desire upon signing his number one transfer target for the Season and the Italian tactician was quick to shower praise upon his newest player,

“He is a very strong striker, especially in my first season at Naples, he did very very well. For sure, he is one of the best strikers in my career. I hope that he will start scoring for us. I know he has had some difficulties at the moment.”

The transfer crossed the English FA’s midday deadline so Higuain will not be eligible to feature in Chelsea’s League Cup Semi-Final Second Leg against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. His debut is touted to be against Sheffield Wednesday in front of his new Home Fans in the FA Cup 4th Round.
