It comes as no surprise that the cricketing fraternity is highly concerned about the Indian Premier League being held so close to the World Cup. Cricket teams are already worked up about how their players will fare and are hoping that the IPL gives them no irreversible injuries.
On the other hand, the IPL will be wrought with players leaving in between the tournament to go back home. Fraternities have picked out suitable replacements, and are hoping to see the magic get replaced by the stand-ins. Here’s taking a look at how the Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Kings XI Punjab are coping with the loss of their players’ post-May 1.
4. Chennai Super Kings
The Chennai Super Kings are one of the only teams who will not be affected by the non-availability of players. With the retirement of Shane Watson from international cricket, David Willey and Sam Billings are the only potential international players in the squad up for selection. However, with the likes of Dwayne Bravo and Shane Watson, it is likely that their absence shall not be missed.
In Indian cricketers, Dhoni will likely play the whole tournament, as the BCCI would like to see him get warmed up for the big games. The IPL will serve as ample opportunity to regain his lost form. The other Indian players, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh have long stopped playing for India anyway, and they are not in the contention to break into the World Cup squad.

3. Delhi Capitals
Just like CSK, DC too do not have players who may be called away for the World Cup. After immense criticism for missing the previous Ranji season, both Shikhar Dhawan and the BCCI will hope that the opener will use the tournament to regain his lost form.
In a very clever move, DC has omitted the inclusion of any Australian or Englishman in their team. Their other main players include Shreyas Iyer who has not yet gained a spot in the Indian side, and Rishabh Pant, who might have a tough battle for a spot with Dinesh Karthik. The main concern that Delhi has is their ability to gel as a team, and not what players they will miss.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders
The main concern that the KKR think-tank will have is finding a suitable replacement for Chris Lynn, one of the most explosive and dependable players that the team has. Truly, Robin Uthappa is a capable backup for Lynn, but the team surely will miss the psychological edge that the Australian exhibits.
The BCCI will not want Kuldeep Yadav to overwork himself to the point of exhaustion in the weeks running up to the World Cup. However, it is unlikely that he will be rested for the IPL. Most importantly, their captain Dinesh Karthik, will not be missing out on any action as the Indian fans will want him in peak condition to help the middle order tide over in the World Cup if he is selected.
