India sink West Indies in Hyderabad | 2nd Test Highlights

The Indian bowlers rattled West Indies for just 127 runs on the 3rd Day to win the 2nd Test Match. India won the 2nd test match and the series by 10 Wickets.

Umesh Yadav impressed everyone with his fast bowling. After his good show in the 1st Innings, Umesh Yadav bowled another good spell in the 2nd Innings. His 4 wickets ensured that India can chase down the low total on the 3rd day to win the match against West Indies.

At the start of the day’s play, one thought that India will pile big runs on the board.

As India’s two overnight batsmen Ajinkya Rahane and Rishab Pant were eyeing to score their 1st hundred in this series. But that didn’t happen, India lost the crucial wicket of Rahane. Jason Holder was one who gave West Indies a vital wicket of Rahane. Ajinkya Rahane departed after scoring well made 80 runs.

Two balls later, Holder struck once more to haunt India. The West Indian skipper trapped Ravindra Jadeja plumb in front for a golden duck. Suddenly, India were under pressure. But the Windies kept their fight on as Rishab Pant was also dismissed after few overs.

Pant missed his century again, just like the first test he was out on 92 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin tried to bat out with the tail but he didn’t get the desired support from the tail-enders. Kuldeep Yadav and Umesh Yadav couldn’t give a good company to Ravichandran Ashwin. They were dismissed cheaply.

Ravichandran Ashwin tried his best but he too was out for 35 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin was the last man to be dismissed as the Indian innings was ended on 367 runs.

India had a lead of just 56 runs. The Windies bowled well, skipper Jason Holder was the star for them. He picked up 5 wickets and gave away only 56 runs after bowling 23 overs. With Holder, Gabriel picked up 3 wickets and Warican took 2 wickets to his name.

The bowlers had made a good match of it, but West Indian batsmen ruined it all. The Windies batsmen couldn’t face Umesh Yadav in the 2nd innings also. He ripped through the top order of the West Indies. Both the West Indies openers were out on a duck. Umesh Yadav picked up the first wicket on his 2nd delivery.

Ravichandran Ashwin picked up the wicket of K Powell. After this horrified start, Shai Hope provided some resistance with Hetmyer. But this resistance was over soon, Hetmyer was out to Kuldeep Yadav for 17 runs.

In the next over, Shai Hope was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja for 38 runs. West Indies were in all sorts of trouble, they were reeling at 45 for 4. The Windies needed Roston Chase to fire like did in the 1st innings. But that also didn’t happen for the visitors. Roston Chase was out for just 6 runs. He was clean bowled by Umesh Yadav.

Umesh Yadav struck again for India. He clean bowled Dowrich for 0. Only Sunil Ambris provided some resistance after Hope. But Holder, Warrican and Bishoo were undone by the Indian bowlers.

After Sunil Ambris was out on 38 runs, the West Indian innings was also over. In the 2nd West Indies managed only 127 runs. They had set a target of 72 runs for India to win the 2nd match and the series.

Umesh Yadav was the star again for India. He bagged 10 wickets in the innings. In the 1st innings he took 6 wickets and in the 2nd innings he picked up 4 wickets to his name.

He was equally well supported by Ravindra Jadeja, he picked up 3 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin, he took 2 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket to his name.

The chase of the modest score of 72 runs was easily done by India. They chased this target down on the day 3 itself. KL Rahul and Prithvi Shaw took India to an easy win on day 3. India chased down the 73 runs without any loss of wickets. KL Rahul and Prithvi Shaw were unbeaten on 33 runs each.

The man of the match award was won by Umesh Yadav for his brilliant effort with the ball. The man of the series award was won by the 18-year-old debutant Prithvi Shaw for his amazing run.

Next Match is the first ODI Match on 21st October 2018.
