Tottenham Hotspur start their UEFA Champions League campaign at San Siro against Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Match Preview

Here, we pick the Combined XI among the stars of Inter Milan & Tottenham Hotspur for their upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture.

Formation: 4-4-2

Goalkeeper – Samir Handanovic (Inter)

With Tottenham’s first choice, Hugo Lloris, injured, experienced Inter stopper Samir Handanovic gets the nod ahead of 2nd choice Michel Vorm.

Left Back – Danny Rose (Tottenham)

The English fullback has lost his place to Ben Davies in the Spurs lineup but his quality is still unquestionable. Rose will be looking to redeem his place in the Spurs eleven.

Centre Back – Milan Skrinar (Inter)

Although a largely unknown figure, he was one of the best center-backs in the Serie A last season, Milan Skrinar has been sensational for Inter this season as well. With 18 duels won and a pass accuracy of 96%, the 23-year-old defender is stepping into the realm of world-class.

Centre Back – Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)

Tottenham stalwart Jan Vertonghen has been as solid as ever. With 32 duels won and an 88% passing accuracy, the Belgian defender has started his Premier League campaign strongly.

Right Back – Serge Aurier (Tottenham)

With the meteoric resurgence of Kieran Trippier during and after the World Cup earlier this year, Serge Aurier is set to warm the Spurs bench unless he shows his worth in the tie against Inter.

Left Midfield – Ivan Perisic (Inter)

Ivan Perisic has been in excellent form for Nerazzurri in the Serie A scoring 2 goals and assisting 1 in just 4 matches

Centre Midfield – Christian Eriksen (Tottenham)

Christian Eriksen has been essential for Spurs this season, providing 2 assists and playing in every match of the Premier League.

Centre Midfield – Radja Nainggolan (Inter)

The controversial new signing from rivals Roma has proven to be a great one. Nainggolan has already scored a goal in just a couple of matches and holds a passing accuracy of 88%

Right Midfield – Lucas Moura (Tottenham)

The Brazilian has won the Premier League player of the Month award due to his sensational performances in the month of August for Tottenham. Lucas Moura will be looking for his first goal in the Champions League in a Spurs shirt.

Striker – Mauro Icardi (Inter)

Highly-rated Argentinean striker Mauro Icardi is yet to open his account in the Serie A this season and the Inter fans will be hoping the striker will find his feet soon, better so against Spurs.

Striker – Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Despite not being at his usual best, Harry Kane has been directly involved in 3 goals in just 5 matches in the Premier League. The English striker will be desperate to prove some sections of the fans wrong about his fatigue and physical condition.
