The Indian Premier League commences from March 23 and as each year, fans are excited for the IPL Fantasy League.
However, there is a slight change in the rules for the upcoming season, after Dream11 took over as the official Fantasy partner of the IPL. There are a number of changes that Fantasy players will witness this year, and here are the IPL Fantasy Rules 2019.
As every year, there will be two contests this season – the Daily Fantasy, where you can create a Fantasy Team for a particular match, and the IPL Fantasy Tournament, where you have to select players from all teams. You can create one team over the whole season, and unlike the limited substitutions that were given last year, this year, the contest will be held in 7 rounds of 8 games each, with players allowed 5 free trades before the deadline of each round. A round is a group of matches, and each round will have games where all teams in a league play at least once.
Round 1 of the IPL Fantasy will cover the first eight games in the tournament.
How to create a team:
Each player will have 100 credits to pick 11 players – minimum 1 wicket-keeper (maximum 2), minimum three batters (max 5), minimum 1 all-rounder (max 3) and minimum 3 bowlers (maximum 5). Each side should necessarily have an uncapped star and can contain only four overseas players. A captain and a vice-captain should be selected as well, and they cannot be changed till the end of a round.
A player can make unlimited changes to his Fantasy team till the start of the first round (till when the first ball in the game between CSK and RCB is bowled). After the end of round 1, a player will have 5 trades, ie, he can change 5 players before the start of round 2. Subsequently, he can make 5 changes before every round and if he wants to make more, -10 Fantasy Points will be deducted.
