Kings XI Punjab pipped Mumbai Indians to win their second game IPL 2019. The visiting team Mumbai did well to get to 176, but the target was easily chased by Punjab as they made 177 for the loss of only 2 wickets with eight balls to spare.
One uncapped player from Mumbai and two from KXIP played the game today and here is a performance of how they fared.

Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians)
The number 3 player came out to bat after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal early on. He started off in an aggressive manner, hitting back-to-back fours off Viljoen. The second four, in particular, was pleasing to watch – as he got forward to a fuller ball and pushed it towards mid-on quite effortlessly. However, he could not capitalize and was out off Murugan Ashwin, as he tried to whip-pull a slider that kept low. He made 11 in 6 deliveries.

Murugan Ashwin (Kings XI Punjab)
Ashwin got Suryakumar Yadav off his second ball and was the star of the Punjab bowling unit, picking up 2 wickets whilst giving away only 25 runs in his 4 overs. He troubled Yuvraj Singh with googlies and then following it up with balls that had some extra bounce. He remained unfazed even when Quinton de Kock hit him for successive fours in the ninth over, and answered by bowling a quicker googly in the next ball. His battle against Yuvi, in particular, was worth watching, as the former tried to get in line against the wrong un’s, only to fail miserably. He was eventually out to Ashwin after being tied down as he attempted to sweep a wrong ‘un.
Sarfaraz Khan (Kings XI Punjab)
Sarfaraz’s participation in the game was limited to just fielding, as he did not get a chance to bat, with Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Chris Gayle helping in taking Kings XI over the line.
