SRH vs CSK
April 17, 8.00PM IST
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
The two teams are coming into this game on the back o contrasting fortunes – while SRH have lost three games in a row, CSK are on a roll and have registered seven wins from eight games thus far in IPL 2019. The Dhoni-led team have been on a roll, with players like Tahir and Faf du Plessis helping them beat rivals one after the other. SRH, on the other hand, have two of the most dangerous batters in Warner and Bairstow, but once they are dismissed, it gives way to an inconsistent middle-order. With their bowling not living to its expectations too, the side is struggling, and they will go into this match under pressure.
As far as the pitch conditions go, unlike the other grounds, win the toss and bat first seems to be the mantra here. The teams chasing have lost three of the last four games played here, and hence toss will play an important role.
SRH Predicted 11
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, David Warner, Kane Williamson (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Vijay Shankar, Sandeep Sharma, Ricky Bhui, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, K Khaleel Ahmed, Abhishek Sharma
CSK Predicted 11
Shane Watson, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu, Imran Tahir, Faf du Plessis, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Mitchell Santner
Both Bairstow and Dhoni have had a good run in IPL 2019, but I have chosen the SRH keeper, as he opens the innings, and hence will have a better chance of getting a big knock. He scored 41 in the last game and is one of the most aggressive players around.
Suresh Raina anchored the innings brilliantly against KKR, as did Faf du Plessis. After the poor form of Watson and Rayudu, the duo have taken up the responsibility of leading from the front, and the same will be expected once again on a tough track, especially if CSK bat second. The South African in particular has scored 128 runs in 4 innings and has transformed the batting attack since he came in. Kedar Jadhav has the potential to play as an anchor and a finisher, which sees him take a place in the Dream11 team. David Warner is the leading run-scorer in this edition with 400 runs, while Vijay Shankar has played some good cameos, but will be eager to carry on.

Ravindra Jadeja will be high on confidence after a good knock with the bat helped CSK across the line against KKR. He was expensive last time, but has 7 wickets thus far, and will find the conditions helpful, as will Santner and Tahir.
Tahir has scalped 13 wickets and is CSK’s leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets. He took 4 for 27 against KKR on a good batting deck and will fancy his chances again on a slow and tough pitch. Deepak Chahar has taken 10 wickets and holds a key role in the middle overs, while Sandeep Sharma rounds up my Dream11 team.
