With all the lower placed teams attempting to make a comeback, it’s DD’s chance to do the same. With only three wins in ten games, the team has reached the point of a must-win in order to save themselves from an early elimination. Although they have been performing better ever since Gautam Gambhir stepped down as captain, Shreyas Iyer’s winning debut was interrupted by their loss to SRH last Saturday. However, they did not provide to be an easy defeat and were well aware of their mistakes as captain Iyer said, “It is very disappointing, to be honest. We were on top at one point. See, catches win matches, we’ve been practicing on our fielding, but drops happen when the pressure is high. We didn’t give up until the end.” DD will look to get back at them on their own terms in their home base with the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Trent Boult and Amit Mishra.
SRH, on the other hand, are flying high on five consecutive victories, an almost unbeatable side at this point with their position secure in the top four. Shikhar Dhawan has been the star batsman and with the team’s superior bowling unit, they’ve proved to be a deadly combination. Although SRH has not won by massive margins, they have managed to gain footing towards the end of matches keeping them on the top. Captain Kane Williamson has been leading his side well and will be expected to lead the team to victory tonight as well. This will be a crucial win as it will qualify them to be the first team selected for the playoffs.
Will DD be able to take down the unbeatable SRH? Watch tonight to find out.
