The IPL is known, among other things, for the iconic and legendary pairings, which have surely left their mark in the cricketing world.

The most amazing thing about the IPL are the cross-border, sometimes intercontinental pairings between internationals stars, which causes a huge splash on everyone’s minds. Some players have always played together and hence the deep understanding that they share has been exhibited over the years.

Here are the cricketing duos who have always been on the same team.

This is a pairing which has moved from teams, starting with Kolkata Knight Riders and continuing on with Sunrisers Hyderabad. The pair first came together in 2011, after taking responsibility for the middle order for KKR. Many a time, they even finished matches for the team. It seemed like the pairing had broken off in 2018 after none of the two were retained by the franchise, but they reunited again in Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have collectively earned KKR two trophies.

Having played 100 matches together, the pair seems to know each other inside-out. They have seen immense success over the years, with a fair share of controversies as well. After Mumbai Indians released the two, they got picked up by Chennai Super Kings, and have continued their long haul together.

The pair has racked up four IPL trophies in their tenure – Three for Mumbai Indians and one for Chennai Super Kings.

MS Dhoni and Faf du Plessis (2011-present)

This is yet another example of a cross-country partnership. When captains of two teams come together, one can only expect fireworks, which is what we get from this experienced duo. The pair has been rocking the field since 2011 and were picked up by Rising Pune Supergiants after the ban of CSK. After Chennai entered the IPL last year, the duo found themselves together yet again, with Dhoni as the captain and Faf du Plessis coming in through the RTM card.
