With the IPL all set to start on the 23rd of March, the Kolkata Knight Riders will be raring to go after an impressive 2018 campaign.
KKR finished at 3rd place in the 2018 IPL edition and the Kolkata based franchise will be looking to not tinker too much with their settled XI.

So Here’s a look at the whole Kolkata Knight Riders squad. Players with a * symbol were bought this Season.
Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Shivam Mavi, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Carlos Brathwaite*, Lockie Ferguson*, Anrich Nortje*, Nikhil Naik*, Harry Gurney*, Yarra Prithviraj*, Joe Denly*, Shrikant Mundhe*
Indian Youth- KKR has an arsenal of immensely talented Indian Youth players that is primarily centered around Nitish Rana and the 2018 Under-19 World Cup winning trio of Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagargoti and Shivam Mavi. These four players have already proven their worth at the domestic level and a lot can be expected from them now and the future.
KKR can spin a web- KKR’s spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine is one of the best in the League. What they have is not only three quality spinners but three spinners that bring different things to the table and have variety. Narine is an economical bowler with a tinge of mystery to his bowling, Yadav is a chinaman bowler (Left-arm Leg spinner) which makes him a threat straight away considering the rarity of Left-arm leg spinners and Piyush Chawla is a traditional leg-spinner with a very good googly. KKR will be looking to wreak havoc with these three.
Weak Bench- KKR have a very settled playing XI, where they lack is with reinforcements. They have some domestic players who aren’t experienced at this level and though it could work in their favor, it’s a very big risk to take going into a tournament where all teams have able replacements. To add to that KKR have injury prone players like Chris Lynn and Kamlesh Nagarkoti if any key player is to get injured, KKR will be in deep trouble.
Lack of experienced Indian Fast bowlers- Though Kamlesh Nagakoti, Shivam Mavi and Prasidh Krishna are extremely talented young fast bowlers, they are relatively inexperienced. Andre Russel, Carlos Brathwaite, and Lockie Ferguson will need to shoulder all the responsibility with Ferguson more likely to ball more overs but his inexperience in sub-continent conditions and the fact that IPL teams can only field four foreigners may just backfire for KKR.
Probable Playing XI:
Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Piyush Chawla, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kuldeep Yadav
