The Rajasthan Royals have gone from a team that nurtures Youth to a team that spends the big bucks on big money players.
The Rajasthan Royals have gone for a core of Foreign players and considering their key players are English and Australian, it could bite them in the back.

So Here’s a look at the whole Rajasthan Royals squad. Players with a * symbol were bought this Season.
Ajinkya Rahane, Krishnappa Gowtham, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Gopal, Aryaman Birla, S.Midhun, Prashant Chopra, Stuart Binny, Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ish Sodhi, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mahipal Lomror, Jaydev Unadkat*, Varun Aaron*, Oshane Thomas*, Shashank Singh*, Liam Livingstone*, Shubham Ranjane*, Manan Vohra*, Ashton Turner*, Riyan Parag*
All Rounders- On paper, Rajasthan Royals don’t have the best team but what they have gone on to do is acquire quality utility all-rounders who aren’t the biggest names but they get results consistently. The likes of Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes are already proven names in the T20 format, along with these players Rajasthan have also got Riyan Parag, Liam Livingstone and Stuart Binny in their ranks who can be equally effective. All-rounders are key in T20s and Rajasthan have some genuine game changers.
Foreign recruitment- Rajasthan will be worried about their Foreigners with key overseas players Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes all set to miss the second Half of the IPL owing to the World Cup. Many English and Australian players have already expressed their desire of giving the IPL a miss in order to prepare for the ICC World Cup. Assuming Steve Smith is included in Australia’s squad post his ban being lifted in March, (which is safe to assume considering Australia are breaking down without him) Rajasthan Royals will have three key players leaving early and that could be very dangerous for the Jaipur based team.
Lack of experienced bowlers – Jofra Archer, Jayadev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal and Ish Sodhi are touted to be Rajasthan Royals’ main bowlers while Krishnappa Gowtham and Ben Stokes are set to contribute with their all-around abilities. Though these 4 bowlers aren’t bad, they lack an experienced campaigner that would give this bowling attack some bite. More than anything Rajasthan Lack an Indian International experienced bowler.
Probable Playing XI: Ajinkya Rahane, Manan Vohra, Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Jayadev Unadkat, Varun Aaron
