Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spanish defender Juan Bernat Velasco from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The 25-year-old defender signed a 3-year contract until 2021 after the clubs agreed to the transfer and the transfer was reportedly worth around €15 million which was the maximum amount set aside by PSG sporting director Antero Henrique to fill the left-back role.

Paris Saint-Germain Chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said: “We are very happy to welcome Juan Bernat Juan has a solid experience after playing for two big European clubs along with his status as a Spain international. He joins us with big ambitions, a desire to keep progressing in a squad of great players and add a new dimension to his career. Juan also has the character our supporters love.”

Hailing from the Spanish town of Cullera, Bernat emerged from the youth team at Valencia CF, where he made 74 appearances as left-back for the first team before going to Bayern Munich. He played 115 matches for the German club in all total and won four consecutive Bundesliga titles.

Internationally, Juan Bernat won the U19 Euro in 2012 with the Spanish youth national team and then later made his senior appearance earning 7 caps for his senior national team.
