Ter Stegen had an amazing season for Barcelona with 19 clean sheets out of his 37 games. Barcelona dominated the La Liga winning the title with a 14 point difference. Their elite performance certainly helped the German International build his stellar performance, to the extent that some fans believe that he should get the no.1 shirt ahead of Neuer.

23-year old Saúl Niguez made 36 appearances for Atlético, showing that he was a key figure in Simeone’s side. The young midfielder was selected for Spain’s World Cup campaign this year and it’s clear why he was chosen above numerous alternative options that Spain boasts every year. Forward: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
— #UCLfinal (@ChampionsLeague) May 25, 2018
Many expected that Cristiano Ronaldo’s name would not be in such a team at the beginning of the season when he had a poor run of form (in his standards). The Portuguese International was criticised and called a player who was aging but in no time showed he still was the world’s best. He finished the season with 26 goals and 5 assists in just 27 matches rocketing above the rest of his competitors.
Forward: Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona)

The God of La Liga had to be here, didn’t he? The Inhuman player had an even more inhumane season with 34 goals and 12 assists whilst he held the record for highest goals (32), assists (12), key passes (87) and dribbles (185); Lionel Messi everyone, take a minute to digest that.
Forward: Antoine Griezmann (Atlético de Madrid)

Atlético’s best player this season and one of the highest rated players in world football. Griezmann holds the club highest of 19 goals and 9 assists in his 32 games for Los Rojiblancos guiding them to the 2nd place in the La Liga and a Europa League victory this season. According to several reports, the Frenchman’s move to rivals Barcelona is imminent which would be a massive blow for the club.
