Deportivo Alaves’ six-goal stunner at Rayo all started with a defender, Ximo Navarro. As a fullback, he opened the scoring for his team in the eighth minute, inspiring his team to a 5-1 victory.

Marc Bartra was solid at the back against Athletic Club on Sunday. The Spaniard also scored a crucial goal to inspire his team to earn a point from the 2-2 draw.

Real Valladolid had difficulty containing Celta Vigo’s attack on Saturday, but Nacho was able to provide a couple of assists that inspired a strong away result for his team.

Ibai Gomez scored a brace on Saturday as Alaves battered Rayo Vallecano 5-1 in the La Liga. The prolific midfielder did enough to earn his spot in this team.

Mikel Merino scored the only goal of the match on Saturday in the La Liga as Real Sociedad beat Huesca 1-0. The former Newcastle midfielder performed brilliantly through the entire game.

After arriving at the Wanda Metropolitano amidst a good set of players and facing extensive expectations, Thomas Lemar positively delivered for Atlético Madrid. The young Frenchman scored his first goal for his new club, and another one in the same match against Getafe.

Cristhian Stuani was excellent against Barcelona on Monday. The Uruguayan scored his second brace of the season to hold the La Liga leaders to a 2-2 draw.

Celta Vigo fans were not entirely pleased with dropping points at home, but their front-line was once again frightening. Iago Aspas scored 2 goals and was a constant threat up front against Real Valladolid.

Sevilla bagged a 6-2 victory over Levante on Sunday. French striker Wissam Ben Yedder put in his best performance yet with a first-half hattrick and an assist later on.
