Manchester City won their 4th consecutive Premier League game as they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Raheem Sterling starred for Pep Guardiola’s side as Manchester City look to build a successful title defence and keep out the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in hunt of a second consecutive Title. Brighton didn’t have a poor game and were pretty well organised in defence, but Manchester City produced two moments of magic which was enough to take all three points against the ‘Seagulls’ and maintain their unbeaten start to the League.

Sergio Aguero had the first real chance of the game when the Argentine Striker had an overhead kick saved at the four-minute mark. Brighton were doing all they could to keep Manchester City silent but a quick move at the half hour mark where Aguero released Leroy Sane who put a low cross in for Raheem Sterling finally broke the deadlock, and the ‘Citizens’ were in front.
Raheem Sterling had a chance to double his goal tally ten minutes later when he pulled the trigger from outside the box only to see Mat Ryan make a comfortable save. City went into the break with a 1-0 advantage and came out with a determination to kill the game off. Kill the game they did, after a series of shots from Aguero and David Silva City finally got their second goal in the 65th minute. David Silva played a simple pass to Aguero, and the Argentine Forward skipped past three defenders before passing the ball to Raheem Sterling on the left flank. Aguero Charged into the box and picked up Sterling’s clever return pass to fire home.
City comfortably picked up the 3 points and will now face their first real test when they face Liverpool next week at Anfield. A game that could decide the early fate of the Premier League Title as the two favourites will go head to head.
