Manchester United host Newcastle United at Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho’s men look to avoid dropping points for a fourth consecutive Premier League game. United have been a state of turbulence over the last few weeks with a 3 – 1 Loss against West Ham and more recently a spineless 0 – 0 performance against Valencia in the Champions League. To add to their woes Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba have been taking sly digs at each other and have pretty much been giving Journalists a perfect platform to speculate and sensationalize. Newcastle United have failed to register a single win this season, in all competitions and Rafa Benitez will be looking to avoid defeat against the Red Devils and given United’s vulnerabilities, this may just be Rafa’s best shot.

Manchester United- United Left-Back Ashley Young could play a part in the game against Newcastle as he has just recovered from a minor injury. Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera, and Jesse Lingard remain sidelined for Manchester United but there are no new injuries for the Red Devils. Jose Mourinho will be in a dilemma with respect to his attacking options as the likes of Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have been ineffective over the last few weeks and will have some selection problems.
Predicted XI: De Gea, Shaw, Smalling, Lindelof, Valencia, Fred, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Lukaku, Rashford
Newcastle United- Newcastle United Summer Loan signing and Centre-Forward Salomon Rondon is ruled out with a thigh injury and defender Florian Lejeune will also not make the trip to Old Trafford because of an Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury. Left-Back Paul Dummett and Centre-Back Federico Fernandez face late fitness tests but could just make the squad after recovering from Hamstring injuries. We can expect to see a sit-back-and-defend strategy from Newcastle but given United’s vulnerabilities and low self-confidence, Rafa Benitez may just look to exploit the hosts.
Predicted XI: Dubravka, Clark, Lascelles, Yedlin, Shelvey, Diame, Ritchie, Kenedy, Atsu, Perez, Joselu
Manchester United- Marcus Rashford

United are going through a slump but even through this period Rashford has looked lively and the onus will be on him to break the Deadlock. The teenager scored United’s solitary Goal against West Ham and was the closest thing to a goal threat for the Red Devils against Valencia.
Newcastle United- Joselu

Newcastle’s Spanish Forward Joselu has been their most potent Goalscorer finding the back of the net twice. The Spaniard can be very dangerous inside the box and will be looking to exploit any space inside the box in order to get an opportunity.
