Young goalkeeper Pereira has left Manchester United and has joined Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal on a season-long loan deal. The 22-year-old goalkeeper was a key member of Jose Mourinho’s squad at the pre-season camp at the US. He was the third choice keeper last season behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero but has been offloaded to gain more experience this season with the arrival of Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant. It I widely believed that Mourinho is still a firm believer in the goalkeeper as he signed a new contract with the club that keeps him till 2021 with the option to extend it by a year. Mourinho also said last year that Pereira could become the next best Portuguese goalkeeping sensation.

Pereira will gain immense experience playing regular first team football and that is the main reason Jose Mourinho has taken the call to send him out on loan. Young players thrive on confidence and faith from the managers and Jose is for a change showing faith in one of his youngsters, something that the man doesn’t do too often. With the right attitude and hard Work, Pereira is a goalkeeper who is capable of reaching great heights. He has great reflexes and everything needed to be a good all-round goalkeeper.

Manchester United have allowed two other young goalkeepers to leave this summer following the arrival of Lee Grant from Stoke City. Sam Johnstone has completed his move to West Bromwich Albion earlier this summer for a reported fee of 6.5 million Euros while Dean Henderson made his switch away from Old Trafford on a permanent move to Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. Pereira, however, is the only young Goalkeeper to sign a contract extension and leave on Loan. He has the backing of the manager and will look to impress in Portugal.
