The sixth week of the Premier League was an immensely exciting one with a couple of interesting results and a fair amount of excellent performances. This week, Chelsea lost their 100% win record, Manchester United split points at Old Trafford while Liverpool and Manchester City continued to dart forward with great form. Few players distinctly outshined others with their performances and some names on the list are not what people would expect.

Here, we pick the best players from game week 6 of the Premier League.

Formation 4-3-3

GK – Petr Cech (Arsenal)

Cech has encountered a lot of criticism lately mainly from the fans due to his shaky performances earlier in the season but has redeemed himself by putting in a magnificent display against Everton on Sunday. The 36-year-old kept Arsenal in the game in the first half and kept them two goals ahead after they scored earning his team their first clean sheet of the season.

RB – Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)

Wan-Bissaka is defensively dependable and a real threat when he sprints forward. He completed the most dribbles of any player at Selhurst Park on Saturday and with his performance. The 20-year-old showed abilities and style of a complete modern fullback.

CB – Fabian Balbuena (West Ham)

This week marked Balbuena‘s best performance for West Ham since joining in the summer. Supporting Zabaleta on the right of the defense, Balbuena cleverly helped dull the menace of Eden Hazard and helped his team get the much-deserved point, breaking Chelsea’s 100% win record.

CB – Joel Matip (Liverpool)

Matip not only showcased his brilliant defensive skills against Southampton but also went forward to score a goal for his team in the first half to put the Reds 2-0 up. The 27-year-old, who serves as a backup to Van Dijk and Gomez, stood proof to the depth of Liverpool’s squad.

LB – Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur)

Anthony Knockaert was Brighton’s biggest threat throughout Saturday’s match but Danny Rose handled him well for the majority of the game and also provided a constant threat down the left, assisting Erik Lamela’s second-half goal.

CM – Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)

Gundogan was at the center of everything Manchester City produced in the match against Cardiff City. Linking up with Raheem Sterling on the right, Leroy Sane on the left, Bernardo Silva alongside him and Sergio Agüero up front, the German midfielder operated perfectly. He also scored a marvelous goal and made a well-placed assist.

CM – Joao Moutinho (Wolves)

Moutinho’s all-around performance against Manchester United was mighty impressive but his goal was arguably better. The 32-year-old is an excellent and well-rounded midfielder and he has slotted right into the Wolves midfield almost effortlessly.

CAM – Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)

Bernardo Silva delivered another exceptional performance for City this week as he continued his magnificent start to the season. His goal against Cardiff was the least of his attacking contributions.

RW – Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City)

Riyad Mahrez just played around just 30 minutes of the game and managed to score his first and second goal for City in the Premier League. This might be the push he needs to start for the champions.

LW – Aaron Lennon (Burnley)

Lennon was absolutely amazing in Burnley’s triumph over Bournemouth. The 31-year-old Premier League veteran found the net once and provided an assist as the game ended 4-0.

ST – Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

Jamie Vardy was at his very best against Huddersfield, pestering defenders regularly and inserting much-needed pace into the game. A generous assist for Kelechi Iheanacho and a decent goal earned him his place in this team.
