Rajasthan Royals bagged their first win in the IPL against the Delhi Daredevils yesterday, 11th April 2018 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. They won by 10 runs with a score of 153/5 in 17.5 overs. The game resumed just before midnight after the rain stopped. The Daredevils struggled to score runs and managed only a score of 60/4 in 6 overs. Ajinkya Rahane’s 45 and Ben Laughlin’s 2/30 assured their team their first win of the season.
The rain made it difficult to play, for the most part, forcing D/L method to come into play after RR had scored. DD was given a revised target of 71 to achieve in 6 overs. However, Ben Laughlin picked up the wickets of Glenn Maxwell and Vijay Shankar, while Jaydev Unadkat rain played spoilsport for the major part, forcing D/L method to come into play after the hosts were 153/5 in 17.5 overs when it started drizzling.
Delhi was given a revised target of 71 to chase in six overs but Australian pacer Ben Laughlin picked up the wickets of Glenn Maxwell (17) and Vijay Shankar while Jaydev Unadkat (1/24) kept an eye for Rishabh Pant (20) to not let Delhi come close to winning in harsh circumstances. It was a fantastic win for the Rajasthan champions and they put together an all-around performance.
