Roma completed their comeback against Atalanta through a late equalizer from Kostas Manolas as the match ended in a 3 – 3 draw on Monday in the Serie A.

Roma gained an early lead when recently signed midfielder Javier Pastore scored an extraordinary back-heel goal two minutes in the competition.

However, Atalanta took advantage of the poor defending by Roma including by Manolas and they went in 3-1 down at the interval thanks to Timothy Castagne‘s equalizer and a  then a brace from Emiliano Rigoni

However, Alessandro Florenzi began Roma’s comeback by penetrating through the centre of Atalanta’s defence and secured one back on the hour mark when he collected Edin Dzeko‘s pass and found the net from outside the box.  

Manolas then reacted quickest following a free-kick that was launched into the penalty area to ensure that I Giallorossi would eventually get away with a point. 

Both sides continue to be unbeaten after two matches of the season with four points each to their team. Roma and Atalanta each have four points from the two rounds which is two points behind leaders Juventus, Napoli and SPAL. 

Roma visit AC Milan on Saturday, 1st September while Atalanta faces FC Kobenhavn for Europa League Qualification on Thursday, 30th August.
