Ronaldo scores amid rape allegation turmoil
All eyes were on Cristiano Ronaldo after all that the Portuguese has been through with the rape allegations as the Italian champions Juventus faced Udinese under the rain in North-eastern Italy on Saturday.
Cristiano shrugged off these allegations and scored as the champions extended their unbeaten run and the lead at the top of the Serie A table with a 2 – 0 victory against Udinese. Ronaldo lashed in the second goal of the game after 37 minutes from the left after he met with a cross from Mario Mandzukic, four minutes after a Rodrigo Bentancur opener. The 33-year-old celebrated wildly with his teammates after he netted his fourth goal of the season and helped the Serie A champions to their 10 consecutive win in all competitions this season.
Juventus are highly tipped to go on and win the Champions league since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, who many people believed was the missing link that Juventus needed to gain the much coveted crown. With everything that was happening around him, the Portuguese remained focused on the task he had on his hand and didn’t let his surroundings have an effect on his performance on the pitch, something that is the mark of a true professional. Ronaldo remained tight lipped as he left the dressing room giving a thumbs up to his fans as they cheered him on is way out.

The superstar showed no signs of the immense pressure he is under after the damaging accusations that may cause harm to his multi million euro sporting empire. The US police reopened the investigation for the case based on accusations by former American model Kathryn Mayorga who claims that the five time Ballon d’ Or winner raped her in a hotel at Las Vegas in June 2009. “I don’t know how things are for him at home, I don’t live with him,” said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri. “What I know is what I see on the pitch. He trains hard, he is serene and today he scored an extraordinary goal.”

This however, has had no effect on the support the superstar get’s wherever he turns up to play. More than 25,000 turned up to watch the Portuguese superstar who didn’t seem to be fazed by everything that has been happening around him, and turned up at his usual best in the Juventus shirt.
Juventus have a maximum of 24 points from 8 games which has opened up an 8 point lead from second-placed Napoli who face Sassuolo on Sunday.
