Maurizio Sarri’s era has started at Chelsea, and the fans are ecstatic. Chelsea played their first Friendly against Perth Glory and came out on top with a dominant 1-0 win. Meanwhile the Club’s former Manager, Antonio Conte is reportedly taking Legal action against the Blues (According to the Evening Standard).

Conte received 9 Million pounds as a severance package because he still had one year left on his Chelsea contract. Reports suggest that the Italian believes he deserves a bigger and better compensation from Chelsea and is taking Roman Abramovich and the Club to Court.

Here’s Why

Antonio Conte’s relationship with the club started deteriorating the day Conte told Diego Costa that he doesn’t have a future at Chelsea infamously via text message. Costa was eventually sold for 57 Million Pounds to Atletico Madrid. The Chelsea Board believed that had Conte, and Costa not made the Transfer public, Chelsea could’ve gotten at least 20 Million Pounds more for the World Class Striker. Furthermore, the Former Manager’s constant public criticism of the Board’s Transfer policy didn’t go down well with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Leading up to the FA Cup Final, a lot of reports suggested that Antonio Conte would be shown the door soon and Maurizio Sarri’s name had already started creeping up. But with complications involving Maurizio Sarri’s transfer, the former Juve Manager had to wait 55 days, return as Manager for Pre-Season and then get sacked. His Lawyers claim that all the top jobs in Europe were taken by the time he was relieved of his duties and Chelsea to have wasted one Year of his Management career.

It is believed that the Premier League and FA Cup winning Manager was offered the Real Madrid job and was also in Contention to become Italy’s Manager but due to Chelsea’s delay in announcing Maurizio Sarri, Conte missed out on both jobs.
