Chelsea’s Spanish winger Pedro has agreed to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge for another year since making a move to the club in 2015 from FC Barcelona. The Spaniard switched Camp Nou for Stamford Bridge for a £21 million fee.
Since making his first appearance for the club in 2015, the winger has become one of the crucial arsenals in Chelsea’s attack. Pedro has scored 28 times in the 131 appearances that he has made for the London club.
Further, the winger has expressed his delight of signing a new deal under new boss Maurizio Sarri.

“It is very good for me, I am really happy here in the club, with my team-mates, the supporters and the club in general,” told Pedro to the official website of the club.
Further, the winger added “It’s important for me to continue with Chelsea, I am comfortable here and want to win new titles and trophies. I want to help the team, score goals, and I repeat, I am really happy.”
Pedro’s presence in attack is crucial if the Blues are going to win the Premier League title this season under the guidance of Sarri. Further, Sarri’s Sarri-ball system is likely to favour the playing style of the Spaniard, with Pedro’s past at FC Barcelona.
Marina Granovskaia expressed her delight:
Chelsea’s club director Marina Granovskaia expressed her delight over the extension of the winger.
“Since becoming a Chelsea player he has regularly demonstrated his quality on the field and we look forward to seeing him continue to flourish under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri.” she said following Pedro’s decision.
Further, doubts have been raised over the future of the French midfielder N’Golo Kante at the club. With the arrival of Jorginho from Sarri’s former club Napoli, the French star’s future was a little jittery as FC Barcelona showed interest for the midfielder.
However, with the arrival of Arturo Vidal at Camp Nou, Barcelona will not go for N’Golo Kante and moreover, Chelsea FC would not be willing the midfielder to leave at a cheap price.
