The shot-stopper is probably the best and the most highly rated Goalkeeper in Africa. His experience in the 2014 World cup only solidifies his position as the Numero-Uno of this team.

CB: Benatia

CB: Koulibaly

Benatia and Koulibaly have continued to turn heads in defence with their solid performances at the back for both club and country and certainly looks like the strongest centre back pairing for this team.

RB: Hakimi

The Real Madrid superstar has shown great promise and also has been named in the top 50 under-21 stars in the world. He will undoubtedly play a key role in Morocco’s fortunes in Russia and hence make the starting eleven.

LB: Ali Maloul

Ali has been probably the best Left back in Africa in recent times and even though Ghoulam has shown a steady rise, his curtailment due to injury has caused a minor setback that paved way for Ali to make the starting eleven.

CDM: Obi Mikel

The old warhorse is still as reliable as ever. It’s hard to imagine an African without Mikel guarding the defence in midfield. His experience and leadership abilities have earned him the captains armband.

RM: Iwobi

The Arsenal man has grown into the midfield position for his club and country and has played an important role in Nigeria’s world cup qualification. He will no doubt be one to watch out for, come to Russia.

LM: Hakim Ziyech

The midfielder’s extravagant attacking prowess and his abilities to pick up runs by the forward has earned him a place in the team. Touted to be the next Coutinho, Ziyech will play an important role for his country in Russia. 

RW: Mo Salah

The Egyptian King needs no introduction. After winning numerous awards this season with Liverpool, including the African player of the year award, his sights are now set at conquering the World cup. He is undoubtedly the best African player in the World at the moment.

LW: Sadio Mane

Salah’s partner in crime on the left flank for Liverpool, Mane is not only one of the best in Africa, but also is one of the fastest and the most skilled winger in the world. Recent rumors linking him to a move to Real Madrid is a testament to his achievements at Liverpool.

ST: Keita Balde

The Monaco youngster has been in some form recently and his dribbling and finishing abilities, have earned him a place in the team as a centre-forward. With Salah and Mane on either wing, his attacking prowess will be taken to another level.
