Tottenham 2 - 2 Watford (Penalties: 4 - 2) | Carabao Cup

Tottenham Hotspur beat Watford in an all-Premier League tie on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the Carabao Cup.

Dele Alli received an enthusiastic welcome at the stadium of MK Dons, his boyhood club, which Tottenham used as a temporary venue for this Carabao Cup third-round tie.

Watford forward Isaac Success lit up a slow game with an opener immediately after half-time. Success beat Serge Aurier as he ran onto Kiko Femenia’s pass to put the visitors ahead straight from the kick-off in the 46th minute. They should have increased their advantage when Ken Sema ran onto a diverted Watford cross almost four yards out, but his shot went up the air giving Spurs the space to take a breather.

Watford seemed to be close to causing another upset against Tottenham, however, after Christian Kabasele was sent off for a foul on the Dele Alli as he clipped the midfielder’s heels in the box. Alli netted his first of the night from the penalty spot into the corner beyond a fully stretched Heurelo Gomes leveling the game at the 81st minute.

Within minutes of leveling, Spurs went in front, as Erik Lamela finished off a brilliant counter-attack at the 85th minute connecting to Dembele‘s through-ball completing an exceptional comeback. However, the match was far from over even though both sides were down to 10 men after Aurier was forced off with an injury.

Etienne Capoue’s shot was deflected beyond Pablo Gazzaniga via Ben Davies in the 89th minute, giving Watford a chance in the penalty shoot-out.

Gazzaniga was in top form in the penalties; Capoue and Domingos Quina missed their spot-kicks in the shoot-out for Watford and Alli once again stepped up to send Spurs through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur faces Huddersfield while Watford faces Arsenal on Saturday, 29th September for their upcoming Premier League fixtures.

Nahki Wells - Burnley striker joins QPR on a season-long loan

Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Bermudian striker Nahki Wells from Premier League side Burnley on a season-long loan.

A statement from the club’s official website read: “QPR have further bolstered their attack with the loan signing of striker Nahki Wells.”

Speaking about the move, Ranger’s boss Steve McClaren said: “I’m delighted with Tomer and Nahki now too to join him. I know them very well – they’re a nightmare to play against! I’m glad to have them in our squad. They’re two very good strikers with great pedigree and experience.

“Nahki is proven, he scores goals. He’s scored goals at this level, he’s played in a team which has secured promotion so he’s someone who’s been there and done it. That’s exactly what we need,” he added.

Bermuda international Nahki Wells comes with plenty of Championship experience. He has scored 48 goals in 152 appearances previously with Huddersfield and also hit double figures in each of his three full seasons with the Terriers, helping them earn a promotion to the Premier League in 2016/17 season.

QPR have made an unfortunate start to the Championship this season and are bottom of the table after 4 matches, with no points and a goal difference of -11.

Speaking to the club’s website, Wells said: “It’s a challenge that excites me a lot. I have had the struggles of fighting to stay in the league as well as getting promoted. I like to think the club is getting someone who is hungry, excited, who has experience at this level, and knows what it takes to grind out a long, tough season.

“I have always enjoyed my visits to Loftus Road, it’s a great ground. I’m looking forward to playing there regularly and hopefully, I can continue that run of scoring goals at home now,” he added.

The 28-year-old becomes the second striker to join the club on loan after the arrival of Tomer Hemed from Premier league side Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nahki Wells will wear the number 32 shirt and is set to make his debut against Wigan Athletic on Saturday, 25th August

Premier League: A hattrick from Sergio Aguero puts Manchester City on the track to another title

A hattrick from Sergio Aguero puts Manchester City on the track to another title

Pep Guardiola’s men have picked up the season from where they left last year around, with performances of the highest order. After the victory over Arsenal last week, Guardiola’s Manchester City looked in fine touch against Huddersfield.

Guardiola started Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus up front, alongside Bernado Silva, Benjamin Mendy, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan. Fernandinho was the last midfielder on the pitch, with John Stones, Vincent Kompany, and Aymeric Laporte marshaling the defence.

For 20 straight minutes in the first half, it looked and felt like a long day for the Huddersfield players. Guardiola’s men not only passed the ball every-so-patiently but found Aguero and Jesus at the end of the delivery.

It was only going to be a matter of time before either of the strikers got onto the scoring sheet.

Kun Aguero all the way for City:

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for the hosts in the 25th minute of the encounter with a fine finish past Hamer at the goal. His striker partner Gabriel Jesus did not make a mistake as he crashed the ball home in the 31st minute of the clash.

Aguero was not done for the night as he returned to score another one in the 35th minute of the encounter. At 3-0, the hopes of the Huddersfield fan started shrinking as Manchester City passed the ball across the field.

However, Stankovic brought the away side a goal with a neat finish at 3-1 before the first half.

City’s Spanish midfielder David Silva for the first time at Etihad brought his newborn son Mateo on the playing field prior to the clash. With emotions flying high before the game, it was a sighter of things that was to be expected on the day.

Silva was on the scoresheet with a fine finish just after the stroke of half-time. Aguero completed his treble in the 75th minute as an own goal from Kongolo completed the rout at 6-1 for Manchester City.

Huddersfield Town VS Chelsea, Match Prediction | Premier League

Huddersfield Town VS Chelsea, Match Prediction | Premier League

The Premier League is back! The 2018/19 Season kicks off this Weekend, and Chelsea takes on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday. The Blues have had a frantic Deadline Day, Signing Mateo Kovacic on Loan, Smashing the Goalkeeper Transfer Record for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Selling Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid within the last 24 hours of the Window. But now Maurizio Sarri must turn his attention to David Wagner’s Huddersfield.

It would be interesting to see how Chelsea Lineup considering the Likes of Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud have been in training for less than a week and new signings Mateo Kovacic and Kepa Arrizabalaga arrived at the Club on Deadline Day. Huddersfield escaped relegation last Season when they drew against Chelsea which played a huge factor in the blues being deprived of Champions League Football this Season. Both teams will be hoping to get off to a good start, Huddersfield has the home advantage and despite things looking a little unclear at Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri’s side goes into this game as Favourites.

Key Players

Chelsea- Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard is the most gifted player in the Premier League, hands down. The Belgian is coming off an excellent performance in the World Cup leading his country to a third-place finish, which is Belgium’s best performance at the World Cup. The Talismanic forward created quite a stir in the transfer market but now Hazard seems content at Chelsea. It is still unclear whether he would start the game or not but even from the bench Hazard could be a lethal weapon for the Blues.

Huddersfield Town- Aaron Mooy

The Australian Midfielder was one of the best players for Huddersfield last Season, finishing with 4 goals and 3 assists. Mooy is a key player for David Wagner as he takes set pieces and controls the game from the centre of the park. He even had a decent showing at the World Cup for Australia, Making 8 key passes from set pieces in the Group Stage.

Chelsea has a few issues they need to sort out, especially in defence. But the Blues have too much quality to slack off against Huddersfield so we’re going for a 1-0  Chelsea Win.

Tom Ince – Recently Relegated Stoke City sign Huddersfield winger

Tom Ince - Stoke City

Stoke City have completed the signing of winger Tom Ince from Huddersfield in an agreement worth up to £12 million – a club record fee received for the Huddersfield player.

According to Sky Sports, Tom Ince had a medical with the Potters on Saturday. Ince has penned a 4-year deal at the Bet365 Stadium with Stoke paying £10 million upfront to Huddersfield for the winger with another possible £2 million in future add-ons.

The pacy winger arrives as a direct replacement to Xherdan Shaqiri who joined Liverpool this summer.

The move sees Ince, the son of former England captain Paul Ince, reunited with Stoke manager Gary Rowett who he worked under at Derby. The 26-year-old scored 37 goals in 105 league matches for Derby between February 2015 and July 2017, having initially joined them on loan from Hull.

Rowett told the club’s website: “I’ve had the fortune to work with Tom before and he’s a terrifically talented player.

“He’s very strong technically and can play anywhere across the front three, but he’s particularly good from the right-hand side.

“His record in the Championship speaks for itself and we’re really fortunate to have got him in the building.”

Ince registered 2 goals in 33 league appearances last season as Huddersfield dodged relegation in their initial season in the Premier League. He clearly believes in the Potters’ ability to get back into the Premier League as he swapped a Premiership club for a club in the Championship.

The player told the clubs website: “It’s a massive Club that’s geared for the top level. It’s up to us as a group of players to make sure it takes one season to get back up.”

Stoke Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “Tom has great experience of the Championship and Premier League and he’s a proven goal-scorer at this level which makes him an exciting addition to our squad ahead of the new season.”

Ince becomes their 5th signing of the summer for Stoke following the arrivals of Benik Afobe, Oghenekaro Etebo, Adam Federici and James McClean.
