The summer transfer window is always the busiest time of the year and this year it is no different. With many clubs having completed most of their signings, some meager some sensational, the next season bears promise to all. Many young players have chosen to switch their clubs in the Ligue 1

Here we take a look at 5 of the best signings that have been completed in the Ligue 1.

5. Wabhi Khazri – AS Saint-Etienne

Wahbi Khazri has left Sunderland to join Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne for a reported fee of around €7 million. The Tunisian skipper signed a four-year deal with the French side after a difficult World Cup campaign in Russia with his country this year. 

4. Loic Remy – LOSC Lille

Former Chelsea striker Loic Remy has penned a two-year deal with Lille marking the forward’s return to France after five years abroad. The fee was reported to be around just €1.4 million for the 31-year-old Frenchman.

3. Duje Caleta-Car – Olympique de Marseille

Croatian defender Duje Caleta-Car has signed a five-year deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille for a reported fee around €19 million. The 21-year-old was a part of the 23-man squad for Croatia, who performed beyond expectations, in the World Cup this year.

2. Williem Guebbels – AS Monaco

Monaco have signed striker Willem Geubbels from Lyon for €20 million. The 16-year-old Frenchman will hope he can surprise the world by breaking into Monaco’s first team and have a breakthrough season in Ligue 1. 

1. Gianluigi Buffon – Paris Saint-Germain

Gianluigi Buffon has signed a one-year contract, with an option to extend, with Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain. The 40-year-old stopper joins the French side after spending 17 years with Italian club Juventus on a free transfer.
