Team India will look to seal the series against West Indies at Hyderabad3 min read

India vs West Indies | Virat Kohli and Co will look to be unbeatable at home

After winning the 1st Test at Rajkot, Team India will again look to dump the poor Windies when they meet at Hyderabad on Friday.

The second and the final match of this two-match test series between India & West Indies will be played on Friday 12th October 2018 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.

The number one side will look to be dominant against the low esteemed West Indies. India has lost just 1 match at home, that was against Steve Smith’s Australia at Pune.

But after that India has been dominant and performed extremely well in these home conditions. Kohli and Co will look to maintain this winning form before traveling to Australia.

India gave a chance to the 18-year-old star and he made this opportunity golden by his own hands.

Prithvi Shaw opened the innings at Rajkot and he promised to be a star with that knock of 134 runs. His maiden century in his debut test should give him a lot of confidence for the series to come.

But Shaw shouldn’t get carried away, he should build his career after this promising start.

After looking at Shaw’s special innings many of us wonder should Mayank Agarwal get a chance?

Agarwal has scored some handy runs in the domestic season. He also performed very well for India A team.  His inclusion may give India a lot of options before India tours the Aussie country next month.

KL Rahul was in good nick before the 1st test at Rajkot, but sadly he was trapped in front for a duck. KL also wasted the review in that test match. From now he should handle the DRS carefully.

King Kohli has never been out of form since he has taken the captaincy, apart from the series against Australia at home VK has been in sublime form.

He showed that in England and in the first test match at Rajkot. Kohli will look to end the series on high.

The last time Captain Kohli played at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium he scored a mighty double hundred against Bangladesh.

Due to that India registered a comprehensive win over the Bangla Tigers.

This match will be also useful for the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. They are in decent form and they should continue to be in it because these two will be the middle order pillars for India when they tour Australia.

The Indian bowling has been good in recent times, in spite of missing Bhuvi and Bumrah the pacers bowled very well.

And the spinners are always good for the home team in these conditions. Kuldeep, Ashwin, and Jadeja have been lethal with their spin in the 1st test and they will a threat in the 2nd test match too.

One should also applaud Ravindra Jadeja as a batsman. He can be the spin bowling all-rounder that India is looking for.

Jadeja bats well, he has shown time and again but his 100 run knock might have sealed the place as a first choice spinner for the test series against Australia.

India Probable 11 –  Rahul, Shaw, Pujara, Kohli/Mayank Agarwal, Rahane, Pant, Jadeja, Ashwin, Unesh Yadav, Shami and Ishant.

The visitors have never been in the game, apart from picking up KL Rahul for 0 they were in very bad shape.

They are missing their stars in the lineup, that’s true but the players who are in the squad should take up the responsibility and do well in the absence of their senior players.

The Windies have a plenty of problem in their bowling and batting. They need to sort that out before Friday morning.

West Indies batted twice in that test match but they couldn’t even cross the 200 run mark once. That’s how the Indian bowling has been dominant over the years.

West Indies should find the answers for this, their first aim should be to compete hard. They need their key players back to level the series.

West Indies Probable 11 –

Can Jason Holder and others be fit for the 2nd test?

Jason Holder (c), Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo, Kraigg Brathwaite, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Jahmar Hamilton, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Keemo Paul, Kieran Powell, Kemar Roach, Jomel Warrican.

India are favorites to win the series 2 – 0. Can the Windies bounce back?

Tune to Star Sports at 9.30 AM for the answers.
