Julen Lopetegui has been sacked by Real Madrid after just 10 La Liga games. The Spaniard’s departure comes as no surprise, considering he failed to have a positive impact on the team.
It’s happened! Julen Lopetegui has been sacked and ‘B’ Team Manager Santiago Solari has been appointed as Interim coach, let’s take a look at some probable long-term replacements, shall we? Now before we start there are going to be some generic names who have been doing the rounds and have allegedly rejected the job, but we’re going to put them up anyway, because it’s Real Madrid and more often than not, they get their main.
5. Jose Mourinho
— Football News (@fneeews) October 29, 2018
Now though Jose has been underwhelming at Manchester United and he wasn’t at his best when he was at Real Madrid 5 years back, this is a deal that could very much happen. Mourinho, despite his antics and lack of results recently is probably the biggest name in Football management and guess what? Real Madrid is the biggest Club in World Football. They are a good match but both Club and Manager in the current scenario may just be too volatile when put together. Nevertheless, don’t be surprised if this deal comes through.
4. Antonio Conte
— Mirror Football (@MirrorFootball) October 30, 2018
This is allegedly the Second time Antonio Conte has rejected Real Madrid, in the summer he refused to budge as he was in a legal battle with Chelsea. Now, Conte apparently rejected Real Madrid as they didn’t have three quality centre-backs to implement his 3-4-3 system along with a quality Striker with a high work-rate. Considering the appointment would’ve been mid-season, with no Transfer Window or Pre-Season to implement his ideas, it’s understandable that Conte rejected the Los Blancos. The summer may be a good time for the Italian to reconsider.
3. Albert Celades
— MailOnline Sport (@MailSport) August 4, 2018
Now, this may not be Popular opinion, but hear me out. Albert Celades has been Lopetegui’s assistant from the start of the Season, he’s seen what’s gone wrong in the dressing room from the start and was very successful with Spain’s Under-21 Side that flourished with Real Madrid players, Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos. maybe giving Celades a shot may not be such a bad idea as he knows Spanish Football in and out.

Announced as Interim Manager, Santiago Solari as Long-term Manager may not be a bad idea. The Former Real Madrid player has done a decent job with the Real Madrid Castilla team and a former Galactico may just be exactly what the team needs. Exhibit A, Zinedine Zidane, so if History repeats itself Solari maybe the right man for the job after all.
1. Arsene Wenger

Again, not popular opinion but did you know that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is a big fan of Arsene Wenger? Madrid seem lost and groping in the dark right now and maybe someone with the character and experience of Arsene Wenger is needed at Real Madrid.
