Weekend, football, and nailbiting clashes – the ultimate stressbuster in existence. After a gloomy, and practically never-ending week; we are finally here, hours away from kicking off this weekend’s scheduled, unadulterated action.

We have a host of fixtures to choose from this weekend, so, this list is all about helping the football junkies out.

Here are the top five matches of the weekend:

5. Manchester United vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s Manchester United will look to pick up their seventh win on the trot when they welcome Brighton to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Red Devils have been absolutely scorching form lately, and we expect the trend to continue against Chris Hughton’s Brighton. Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have been a revelation under the Norwegian and will look to add to their tally against the visitors.

Brighton haven’t exactly been in top shape recently, winning just once in their last seven Premier League fixtures. And sadly, we feel they are in for yet another difficult night.

Prediction: Manchester United 3-1 Brighton

4. Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur

Third-placed Tottenham Hotspur will aim to return to winning ways when they make the trip to Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday night.

The hosts had a fantastic campaign in the Championship, last term, thanks to their expansive style of play. Sadly, the same tactics couldn’t help them in the Premier League. Claudio Ranieri’s appointment has helped their case, as they have been much disciplined at the back lately.

On paper, this contest could come off as a straightforward win for the visitors. But with Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, and Heung-Min Son out of the squad, Sunday’s visit could turn out to be a challenge for Pochettino men. They need a win to keep Chelsea at bay, but it most certainly won’t be a walk in the park at Fulham.

3. RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund

Bundesliga leaders, Borussia Dortmund, will have to be at their sharpest when they take on top-four aspirants and Bundesliga’s most hated side, RB Leipzig, on Saturday.

Fourth-placed RB Leipzig currently sit 11 points off Bundesliga leaders, Borussia Dortmund. Despite the league table disparity between the two sides, Leipzig will fancy themselves to pull off an upset. Their leading scorer, Timo Werner, has been in great form lately and will look to improve his tally against the league leaders on Saturday.

We often brand Bundesliga as a one-sided league. Bayern Munich’s superiority is undeniable, true, but this time, Dortmund’s near-perfect run has kept the champions on the ropes. Dortmund are the favourites in Sunday’s fixture and will do their absolute best to maintain their 6-point advantage at the top.

Prediction: Leipzig 1-2 Borussia Dortmund

2. Real Madrid vs Sevilla

Santiago Solari’s Real Madrid welcome Sevilla to the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday in La Liga’s biggest game of the weekend.

Los Blancos have been wildly unpredictable this season, making this iconic fixture even more exciting. They are coming into the match on the back of an upsetting 1-0 Copa del Rey defeat at Leganes but should fancy themselves to see off the Seville outfit. They have a number of injury concerns to deal with, and will once again look up to the youngest player in their squad, Vinicius Junior, for inspiration.

Sevilla, who sit at third on goal difference, have also been quite poor recently. They have only won one of their last five competitive games and will need a bit of magic to pull one over the European champions.

Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Sevilla

1. Arsenal vs Chelsea

Unai Emery’s Arsenal will look to keep pace with fourth-placed Chelsea when they welcome the Blues to the Emirates on Saturday.

Having suffered two defeats in their last three Premier League games, Unai Emery’s Arsenal find themselves six points off their local rivals. The Gunners have been struggling for form and fitness in recent weeks, but derbies, more often than not, bring out the best in them.

Maurizio Sarri’s men have struggled heavily in front of goal this season. Their two natural centre-forwards, Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, have only pitched in with 6 goals, this term, forcing Eden Hazard to operate centrally. Their last encountered produced a five-goal thriller, and we hope to see something similar at the Emirates, on Saturday.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea
