RCB‘s first home game at Chinnaswamy stadium last night turned their luck around. The stadium was filled with energetic and passionate fans who supported the team till the very end.

RCB won the toss and chose to field, choosing to chase rather than block.

Kings XI Punjab started off very well with their two opening batsmen, KL Rahul and M Agarwal – who decorated the first few overs with fours and sixes. However, after Agarwal’s and Finch‘s wickets by Umesh Yadav, Punjab struggled to rise up once more.

With a score of 155 – all out in 19.2 overs, RCB’s probability of winning was already sky high.

RCB started the game with McCullum‘s wicket, crushing the hopes of many fans. Partnered with Kock, Kohli started the chase with steady fours and singles, finally to be clean bowled by Rahman.

De Villiers, however, was the star of the game tonight – scoring a half-century and raising the total to 146. He was caught out by Andrew Tye in the 18th over.

Quickly followed by Mandeep’s wicket, RCB struggled to reach the required number of runs but managed it with three balls left.

RCB plays next against RR at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on April 15th at 16:00 IST.

Kings XI Punjab will be playing on the same day against CSK at Bindra Stadium, Mohali at 20:00 IST.
