Wales 4 – 1 Republic of Ireland | UEFA Nations League

Wales Managed to secure 3 points in UEFA Nations League match after a 4-1 victory against Ireland.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs experienced an extraordinary victory in his first home match in charge as they secured a 4-1 win over Ireland in their opening UEFA Nations League match at Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday.

Wales had not beaten Ireland for 26 years, never in a competitive match and had scored only 2 times in their last seven meetings but ended that jinx during a spectacular opening 45 minutes in which Tom Lawrence scored at the 6th minute, Gareth Bale at the 18th minute taking a Ben Davies pass on his chest and curling a left-footed beauty beyond Randolph, and Aaron Ramsey at the 37th minute to finish inside the near post. Connor Roberts made it 4-0 soon after the break at the 55th minute.

Ireland managed to score a goal in the 66th minute by Shaun Williams. He was drowned out by a chorus of Welsh anthems echoing around the stadium. Wales are said to go there in high spirits as Giggs has thoughtfully and quickly put his powerful stamp on his team blending experience with exciting young talents such as Chelsea center-back Ethan Ampadu.

In Giggs’s first two matches as coach, resurgent Wales have scored 10 times after he began his work with a 6-0 victory. Playing with the kind of pace and energy Giggs was perceived for his illustrious Manchester United playing career.
