AB de Villiers’s Retirement from international Cricket has come as a shock to Cricket fans all across the World and though his IPL career may not be over, reliving ‘Mr 360’s’ top 10 Innings in the IPL seems like a fitting tribute to the Genius.

10. 79* (55) vs Rajasthan Royals, May 17th 2009

AB de Villiers is a name that has become synonymous with RCB, but what a lot of people forget is that ABD started his IPL career with the Delhi Daredevils and had a very good 2009 IPL which was conducted in South Africa. The South African took on the Rajasthan Bowlers with 8 fours and 1 six to ensure that DD had a competitive total of 150, which eventually proved enough as the Delhi based side won by 14 runs.

9. 50* (38) vs Mumbai Indians May 8th, 2009

AB de Villiers didn’t have a great IPL in 2008,but 2009 was a very successful season for the South African. In the game against the Mumbai Indians at the Buffalo Park, the batsman were finding it hard to score in relatively new conditions and the Mumbai Indians put a paltry 116 runs on the board. ABD utilized all his experience on pitches like the one at Buffalo Park and scored a very crucial unbeaten 50 off 38 balls.

8. 54 (40) vs Kochi Tuskers Kerala April 9th, 2009

Mr 360 has arrived for RCB and he does it in style! ABD scored an important 54 off 40 balls while chasing 162. Scoring a half-century being an overseas player on debut for a new franchise in Indian conditions is no mean feat, but ABD was extraordinary back then and he’s still extraordinary right now!

7. 31 (8) vs Pune Warriors India April 23rd, 2013

A game that’s remembered for only one thing, Chris Gayle’s Blitzkrieg. The ‘Universe Boss’ scored 175 off 102 balls, But what propelled RCB to 263 runs? the answer is ABD, he scored a quickfire ‘see ball hit ball’ kind of innings hitting three sixes and three fours off the 8 balls he faced that eventually guided RCB to a mammoth 263 runs,

6. 66 (38) vs Rajasthan Royals May 20th, 2015

The Playoffs is a stage in the IPL where all teams are under the pump, especially during an eliminator do or die game. RCB had a shaky start de Villiers along with Mandeep (54 off 56) guided RCB to a solid score of 180 which eventually was enough to carry them into the Qualifier 2.

5. 79* (80) vs Gujarat Lions May 24, 2016

Qualifier 1, the heat is on at the Chinnaswamy and the Gujarat Lions set a tricky target of 159. RCB are in trouble as they lose Gayle(9), Kohli(0), KL Rahul(0) and Watson(1) inside the powerplay, onus was now on ABD to take his team home. We witnessed an AB classic as his 79 off 80 balls guided RCB to the final of the IPL.

4. 89* (41) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad 4th May, 2014

In what seemed like a two-paced Chinnaswamy wicket, with the bat not directly coming onto the ball. SRH managed a competitive 155 runs and even got RCB’s top 4 of Gayle (27 off 35), Parthiv (3 off 7), Kohli (0 off 3) and Russow (14 off 40 ). RCB were in a spot of bother as they had not only lost wickets but had conceded far too many dot balls and that’s when AB de Villiers let loose and took his team through!

3. 105* (54) vs Chennai Super Kings 23rd April, 2009

Without any question, AB de Villiers’s best Innings in a DD jersey, Mr 360 wasn’t a very well known batsman back then but still managed to score a ton against CSK. His innings of 105 off 54 balls took DD to a massive total of 189 runs which proved to be enough and took DD over the line!

2. 129* (52) vs Gujarat Lions 14th May, 2016

This innings was the Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers show! Without a doubt the best performance this dynamic duo have put up. Virat scored 109 runs while ABD scored an enormous 129 off 52 balls to take RCB to a Mammoth 248 runs. Eventually RCB beat Gujarat by 144 runs that did a huge favour to their Net run rate.

1. 133* (59) vs Mumbai Indian May 10, 2015

It was the Genius’s first hundred in RCB colours and till date his best Innings in the IPL. It was another Kohli-de Villiers special as RCB piled on the runs, ABD getting an unbeaten 133 off 59 and Kohli scoring 82 off 50 balls to take RCB to 235 in 20 overs.
